Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Deportivo about to re-sign Adrian (striker) since they can't afford Lucas Perez.

Only seen highlights of Lucas Perez, but he sounds eager to prove himself, after being shut out at Arsenal. Sounds like a good buy, if the price is right.

The main stumbling block will be convincing the player to come to Newcastle. All the noises seem to suggest he's keen to return to Spain.

Newcastle's offer for Stoke striker Joselu wasn't anywhere near a reported £12m, The Sentinel can reveal.

Newcastle tabled an offer for the Spanish striker which was dismissed by Stoke's hierarchy last week as derisory.

The Sentinel now believes that figure was a fraction of the £12m being reported over the weekend.

Stoke would want to recoup most if not all of the £5.75m they paid for Joselu when signing him from Hannover two years ago.

no way way we offered less than this right, right?

We definitely shouldn't be offering any more if he's not pulled up any trees since that move. Not really sure if the interest is even genuine or just a smokescreen for another striker.

For that price Joselu isn't exactly a risk, but hardly an impressive goal scoring record to show for.

So what would be the point, given that we already have too many players like that on our books who we can't shift?

Bid of around £3m for Joselu turned down. Stoke want closer to what they payed for him.

Hands down the back of the sofa time and Charnley wrapped in a scruffy sleepingbag outside Greggs begging.

Given the pace of our activity I highly doubt we will get two strikers but I am hoping Joselu will be a replacement for Riviere (and Murphy) and if Mitro is going Lucas Perez/or another striker will be his replacement

Gayle, Lucas Perez, Joselu

hi bbe, tell us all about this spanish man

Decent player. Should've been given more chances at Stoke but Hughes' constant rotation meant he never really had a solid run of games.

Target man; he had the best header completion when he first arrived from Hannover (Hasn't really showcased that at Stoke mind).

Very good finisher, more often then not his shots will test the keeper.

Completely different player to Lucas Perez mind. Would be confused if you want one or the other.

£5-6m is probably his current value in todays market.

I don't disagree.

Joselu sounds completely uninspiring to me.

Pronounce it as Hhozaylu from the back of your throat and it's much better.
