afar
I'm not a fan of Gayle, but sure Rafa knows a lot more about spotting talent than I do.
Deuce
Gayle has a pretty good PL goals/minute ratio iirc.
Kanji
Townsend is going to Palace if we are getting Dwight Gayle. Also genuinely dont see much difference in Armstrong & Gayle other than one has just come off pretty much a full season and banged in 20 goals at the same time. Gayle hardly played half and scored 3. Armstrong also younger local, so he will want to do well. Don't get the deal for Gayle if true. Don't get this whole love in with Armstrong the lad looked so far out of his depth when in the premier league he came on or started. yes he's scored goals at Coventry but that may be his level he's shown nothing to say he's got it at a much higher level and the fact he's local is a p*ss poor argument Taylor Colback and Ameobi were local look at how s*** these are. who gives a f*** if they are local or not they are paid to put the ball in the net the people saying Dwight Gayle is a dodgy deal need to give their head a shake we are a championship club now and he's looked sharp quick and an eye for goal in the premier league whenever I've seen him something our strikers have never shown he'd instantly be our best striker by a complete mile I'm still backing our Serbian full international. The late blooming Jamie Vardy was doing next to nothing until he had about 5 and 16 in the Championship, followed by another 5 and now he's shit hot. Harry Kane did abs. nowt prior to getting shit hot for Spurs and in the league he's one the best strikers. What Armstrong has done in the past for us under the prior regime should have no bearing on how he could get on after the brilliant season he's just had in League 1 with Coventry. What we should be doing is either a) giving him a shot or b) continuing his development in League 1 for half a season and then back with us.

Tisd09
Yeah not too bothered about the £10 price tag, they paid a lot for him, hasn't done too bad when given a run in the Premiership, when you factor in the "English tax" it is about standard. I would rather £10m on him that £10-£12m on McCormack. If we get him and keep the other strikers I would be happy with that. Just hope Gayle coming doesn't mean Townsend going

Ikon
How good is this Ritchie? I've read on here that many of you rate him highly. Why are Bournemouth getting rid? (if it happens)
Scoot
Some of the Palace fans seem a tad pissed off that they're losing Gayle... https://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=161310&page=3 Some aren't that bothered.
KaKa
Don't know why they're pissed. Pardew never plays him!
Ikon
Pardew doesn't play him. I think he could score 50 goals in half a season for us.
KaKa
Matt Ritchie incoming according to a broon sauce so Townsend must be away Can't remember much of him from last season, but from watching some clips just now it seems he's a left footed player that likes to come in from the right side, much like Townsend, so a likely replacement yeah. Had a really good record of goals and assists in the championship so fair enough. His set pieces look really good in that clip too, which would be a nice bonus. Lush Vlad
Gayle has a pretty good PL goals/minute ratio iirc. Correct. It's the whole Ben Arfa argument again. On first viewing, his stats weren't all that impressive. Then you go into more detail and for minutes played, converted to full games, he was probably our best offensive player. If you do the same as people did for HBA. I think Gayle is about 1 in 2, over the last 3 seasons or so. KaKa
£25m on three players in The Championship. Around £8 million per. Not that bad I don't think.
Fenham Mag
Linked with Matt Richie to replace Townsend. That would be an extremely good replacement - 15 goals last time he was in the Championship.
lovejoy
dwight gayle sounds ideal for us (ive not seen much of him), he's quick and aggressive, something we lack up front.
SUPERTOON
The Matt Ritchie deal is a strange one if its true. He would be a great addition, but he was a regular for Bournemouth last season, and they rejected a big bid from West Ham a few weeks back. Him signing for us makes no sense.
