Telegraph suggesting that West Ham are being investigating over transfer activity and the involvement of player agents. Article also states that the investigation could extend to other clubs.

People would do well do remember that simiilar happened when Souness was here.

That was transfer dealings, not Payroll taxes.

Similar as in there was a raid, documents were seized. Transfer dealings could well equal income tax and NI fraud. It really isn't worth speculating as to what has gone on until an announcement is made. All the money that is in football you can guarantee big steps are taken to avoid tax liability at every turn.

If the club are directly involved (doubt they are, just a dickhead at the top using the club) then the club will have too lawyers onto the case. These lawyers will first postpone any court dealing for as long as possible and will argue that it was a case of a rouge individual rather than the club. They will also argue how the club have been coorooirative and if they are to be punished then it should be in the form of a fine and an official warning.

Yeah, he probably will be a little red faced this morning.

Football is absolutely packed with this kind of shit, Harry Redknapp's dog was a professional manager for a while FFS. It's annoying that this comes straight after promotion but let's wait and see if it has any serious sporting implications. It better not have.

Yep, I'm sure so many people have made so much undeserved money to make them to never have to worry about money for the rest of their lives.

Fucking tossers.

Hopefully it's just to do with Payroll irregularities, as that wouldn't be as serious as dodgy transfers which would lead to sporting punishments.

How can Charnley beeing locked up be a bad thing? Throw the fucking key away! :)

As someone already have said, it's very unlikely that this will have any sporting implications.

Just rejoice in the fact that this is the best chance we have of getting rid of that bald cunt.

This really isn't surprising at all.  I was surprised more clubs weren't during the stuff that ultimately led to Rangers going bust.

The more clubs involved, the better for us.

Yeah exactly, if it's a 'state of the industry' type situation then on-field action should be impossible.

Let's not forget the manager scandal recently, blew up looking huge and then went away with a whimper.
