He could have brought the ball down for his chance, and he should pass more instead of trying long range shots. I've seen from highlights that he's more than capable of taking on and beating his man, but he's not been trying to take players on so far, either down to the way we're playing or because he's nervous. When he did get on the ball he was rushing or panicked. Will need time to settle but it is a little worrying. Being honest the performance was pap but I still have hope for him. Early days.
