Good luck to him.

Aye.

His career would be ruined here. He looks the type that would spend his spare time here in Nando's and Jalou, ending up married to Charmaine from Wallsend

His brothers been playing quite well since coming back from that horrid illness.

Would be delicious if it turned out his brother was the good one and Lewis was wank and a permacrock.

We deserve it just for the Karma of the De Jong brothers coming here and stinking the place out and then being alright elsewhere.

Don't understand the hate for the lad. Our academy has been poor for the longest time and the club is clearly not interested in providing the best resources to develop the youngsters. Any player with a sense of ambition would leave for a more established academy, especially one with a track record of bringing through youth players.

Absolutely.  If you were a young player you would be insane to put your career and future in the hands of a football club owned by Mike Ashley when there were better offers on the table.

I mean, it's regrettable that we lost one of our best talents. However, youth recruitment has been neglected with no effort made on improving the academy even in the Shepherd era. The only breakthroughs in more recent years have been Ameobi, Carroll and Dummett. Promising prospect Woodman didn't get much game time. And your older brother didn't break into NUFC's first team either. Then you have those spanking new facilities that other clubs built.

Had we focused on improving the club, including the academy, things might have been very different.
