Bournemouth have a £110 million wage bill and still owe £81million in transfer fees according to The Athletic.

I know they’ve made some expensive transfers over the past few seasons but they’ve had the PL money coming in. How have they managed to amount £81m in owed transfer fees?

Seems like it could be a bit of a Leeds type of situation if they go down.

Wages accounted for 86% of their revenue!

That's actually pretty good by championship standards, although their revenue will obviously drop significantly now

If he had any sense he'd hang around Dortmund for a few more years before trying to get a big move

Absolutely - he's got the opportunity to grow a little more before making the big career-defining move.

Moves in the summer and he spends next 3 years on the bench of City/Liverpool/Man Utd, is forgotten then ends up at West Ham or Everton

Not a chance, he's far too good. He'd start for Man United and rotate at Liverpool.

Thought Chelsea might have a buy back clause for him

They’ve just bought/are buying Werner, Ziyech, and Havertz, all for big money, and seemingly want a LB also. Can’t see Lampard splashing another big fee on a CB who they let go in the first place?

He's Dutch.

Got a feeling it was only in play last season, might be wrong.

Edit: BT say Chelsea will get the chance to match this bid as part of the deal which saw the defender move from the club in 2017.

He's good but not good enough to sort citeh out to challenge Liverpool properly. So this will likely be another waste of money by pep at the back. Be great here though, or Tottenham, Everton etc..

Don’t they play Fernandinho there because Laporte is never fit? Seems like he’d play a lot of minutes, and at least half as good as Maguire.

How many top drawer centre halves out there?

Plenty enough to know they should be aiming higher. They don’t need half as good as Maguire, they need twice as good to compete with Liverpool.
