He uses his sources to confirm or deny stories that other journos have released and has the best track record even if he waits longer for proper confirmation. He gives credit to local journos who've broken the stories first but he is putting work in behind the scenes and very rarely gets anything wrong. As I said above he has a good and wide spread of contacts. He's mostly a tap in merchant though. Then again most are and he does get more right than most (not really hard to do though).
