I rate him but he won't be idolised in the same way as shearer or Kane even though he's won more. Just my opinion.
Kid Icarus
I get what you're saying like. Liverpool fans hated him for going to Man City, at Man City unless there for nearer a decade you're more of a cog in the machine, and likewise Chelsea. Not Sterling's fault that he was never at lower ranking club that would have idolised him though. Edited January 24, 2023 by Kid Icarus

I would love to see him win trophies and being a part of a great side. I think he has the ability to have a Benzema-like season last year. But that will never happen at Spurs. As miuch as the fans love him now. The second he's no longer performing, they'll want him out the side. He's given them everything.
wormy
This is extremely petty but I hate how Romano always has a Photoshop of a player in his new club's kit to accompany his here we go.

My cousin is a Villa fan, remember him being dead excited about him when you signed him. Shoot & Match magazines bigged him up massively. My cousin was also adamant he was going to play in a bandana. Never forgiven him for that.

One of the chants we had for him was 'Boom boom Savo!' which as it was about or just after the time of the Yugoslavian war, wasn't very tactful. I think he's a manager now. Don’t know whether I’d had too much cheese the other night and was dreaming it but pretty certain that Susan Calman cruising programme had Sasa Ilic, nemesis of penalty chump and Castletown piss rat Mickey Gray, running a B&B in Macedonia.
