PSG accepted Mbappe bid.

Imagine if they turned 259m down lol.

Whether Mbappe agrees we shall see. It is one year that will set up his grandkid's grandikids and then he will just move to Real Madrid. Would be shocked if he said no.

4D chess moment here, could this will be a PIF ploy to get UEFA and the Premier League to scrap FFP, to help us dominate for decades, as someone has said the last thing The PL and UEFA want is the cash cow stars driving off into the Saudi sunset

Agreed, there was an interview not long ago where the UEFA president laughed at a question about being concerned with what Saudi Arabia is doing. That's a dangerous attitude to be sharing openly.

The one thing that may keep the Saudis at bay is FIFA clearly wants to elevate the Club World Cup and Saudi Arabia's end game (presumably) is to host a World Cup, so they need to keep FIFA on their side (not to mention the pull UEFA has with FIFA). There's no doubt going to be some interesting backroom dealing happening here. Saudi Arabia (and potentially other non-European nations / confederations) conspiring with FIFA to make the Club World Cup bigger than the Champions League seems like one potential path.

Hosting a World Cup is short-sighted.

The end game should be to have the premier club competition. If not the Saudi league, a competition involving Saudi teams. Logistics limits the wider appeal of a club world cup. It has to be in the summer or winter but that's a short amount of time. But i think that could be a short-term measure. La Liga already plays a Super Cup competition in KSA. Why not have another small competition with the Saudi teams during Christmas + the La Liga teams? Then slowly expand that competition.

I think the end game is a year-round competition involving Saudi teams that runs alongside domestic league competitions. I think that starts with changing the Spanish Super Cup to include KSA teams.

Sounds like everyone wins. PSG get a massive lumper, Real still get him for free next summer, Mbappe hits the jackpot and still gets his Real move in 12 months and the Saudis get one of the biggest names in the business.

For all of those reasons it'll probably happen

Seems entirely unnecessary to offer 300m like [emoji38]

Like when you money cheat on FM and just choose the bottom number on the drop-down.

Its the opposite actually. Ask the PGA how that worked out.

For those that dont know the background. PIF just wanted to be involved, get some recognition (and btw thats all they want, respect. Money they already have). PGA told them to fuck off. Several times. PIF went and created LIV and now they own their ass - its an embarrassment how poorly it was managed.

if UEFA is presented with a viable option to include PIF, share in the money, and keep them as minority players then they should do it. Because if PIF gets told to fuck off they will find a way to destroy UEFA or take it over.

I'm sure something longer sustaining is in mind, but there's no bigger event than the World Cup and the fact a smaller Middle East country hosted it first probably annoys them. They will want to be the showcase of the world for a month and then continue building from there.

Am I the only one thinking he's not actually that good ? I mean compared to prime Ronaldo (both) or Messi types.

We posted something similar at the same time. I agree, he's obviously very good but for me, wouldn't even make my top 20. Then again I have a preference for artistic, truly creative players of yesteryear, rather than these video-game-fast types of the modern game.

He's clearly brilliant like. Using Messi and Ronaldo as a yardstick to measure others by seems a bit harsh  There's fair chance we won't say players of that level again in our lifetime.
