Coco Posted Tuesday at 15:18 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:18 1 hour ago, KaKa said: But in their minds they actually think they will be signing Isak to replace Salah, as one of the moves. The state of that team if those three leave man. But still it makes sense to them. Isak the Salah "replacement". The delusion out here is crazy. I recall overhearing a Liverpool fan ranting to someone on his phone about Zubimendi. Apparently he would be on his deathbed, miserable and alone, regretting the decision not to join Liverpool. Delusion isn't a strong enough word.
Nucasol Posted Tuesday at 15:24 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:24 1 hour ago, KaKa said: Yeah, I have no sympathy whatsoever. They should have looked to sell him last summer. If they end up losing Salah, VDV and Trent for nothing this summer that would be extraordinarily poor from them due to the value those players have had recently. What was that Saudi bid they turned down for Salah again £200 million?! Crazy. Looking forward to the summer, should be very interesting. Agree but would they have won the league without him this season and drawn level with 20 titles with Man Utd?

Depends on what they would have done with that £200 million. He's had an amazing season no doubt, and it's worked out with them winning the title, but seeing him leave on a free would still be absolutely sickening I imagine. Monters Posted Tuesday at 17:01 Share Posted Tuesday at 17:01 Unless he's asking for a monstrous wage then they'd be made not to give him a decent length deal... he's rarely injured, comes across as extremely dedicated and still class! Plus the sweetener would be at the first sign of any performance drop they could still sell him for a massive chunk of change
Ketsbaia Posted Tuesday at 17:03 Share Posted Tuesday at 17:03 I think fans assume that local players will always want to stay forever but not everyone is like that. Some love their club deeply but still want to see the world a bit, try a new challenge, and there's nothing wrong with that. Fair play to TAA. Most clubs don’t have an issue locking down their best players who have been there for years during a premier league title winning season so it suggests there are some issues we don’t know about Not sure it’s anything that deep. They will want to maintain their wage structure. All three players have counter offers from clubs knowing they don’t need to pay fees and already have a bigger wage structure (Saudis, PSG, Real Madrid) so worst case scenario for Liverpool and the timing that they all end this summer. They’ll recover from losing all three a lot better than many are thinking IMO.
GeordieDazzler Posted Tuesday at 18:48 Share Posted Tuesday at 18:48 It’s a very tricky situation with VVD and Salah, I reckon both will have large, multi year offers from elsewhere. Salah is already rumoured to be on £350k-£400k already, raise that again and you are eating into your own ability to replace him. Do you off them both single year extensions on improved terms and kick the can down the road? Do you offer them a multi year deal and risk paying monumental wages to players the wrong side of 35? It’s a pivotal moment for them on one where they don’t hold many of the cards or much of the leverage. Will be interesting to see the level of investment from them in the summer, as for the most part John Henry and co are the Glazers with much better scouting. They are looking to make money. Ben Posted Tuesday at 19:06 Share Posted Tuesday at 19:06 Ben Jacobs said Salah was leaving 18 months ago. Something to do with the new TV deal starting this summer, I also think the fact that FIFA have also changed transfer rules to allow the Saudi team to sign players before the club World Cup is also a pointer. Colos Short and Curlies Posted Tuesday at 21:44 Share Posted Tuesday at 21:44 I can see Salah going to Barcelona after the season he's had, he'll feel like there's there another season on the legs. Imo Liverpool would be stupid to renew him, this is the peak and paying more on wages now is just dumb.

Newcastle Fan Posted Wednesday at 08:56 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:56 I can't believe i'm saying this but i have a soft spot for Liverpool fans after the final as they've been class. But since they will be our rivals for the title soon that might go away.

The College Dropout Posted Wednesday at 09:26 Share Posted Wednesday at 09:26 Liverpool will be fine. I reckon Salah signs a 2-3 year deal and they sell him next season to Saudi for £50-100m anyway.
