Richard Hughes doing a good job at Liverpool. Quite a few on here didn’t want him as our sporting director last summer when he was linked. Would have been the idea candidate in hindsight. ponsaelius Posted yesterday at 10:17 Share Posted yesterday at 10:17 (edited) That's an absurd deal. Do Madrid really think he's going to make that much of a difference for this CWC nonsense or that it's even important? I suppose what they've probably done is offer him 10 million less across the whole package (6 year wages/signing on fee) and he's happy to do that to secure the move now. The prize money for the CWC is insane isn't it? I'm sure I read the winner will receive £100m+.

PRL Posted yesterday at 10:20 Share Posted yesterday at 10:20 I’m guessing a sponsor is stumping up at least part of the amount. No way Madrid pay £10m off their own bat. The organisers want all the players they can get there and will have facilitated accordingly. They’ve even blagged a special stub transfer window to enable this sort of move. This nonsense is only going to be every four years - could be only chance you get to play in it. Edited yesterday at 10:24 by ponsaelius

The College Dropout Posted yesterday at 12:11 Share Posted yesterday at 12:11 I’m convinced you can’t build an elite side with Bruno Fernandes. If they get Cunha that would have replaced the goals and assists. Cunha + £40m is a great deal for them.
Ben Posted yesterday at 12:19 Share Posted yesterday at 12:19 Did Madrid give Mbappe a £70 million signing on fee when there was literally nowhere else he wanted to go.

How do they replace him? He's carried that club and suddenly swapping him for a bag of cash doesn't seem like such a good deal after all. The way that club wastes money on absolute shite I'd not back them to fill even half the hole him leaving would create. Their signings have been wank for years now and now they have to spend £100m correctly to replace him? I'll not hold my breath Yep what I was saying too. Already spent 80% of that 80m on Cunha and he’s not going to replace the output Fernandes has given them. Edited yesterday at 12:24 by Chiaia

St1pe Posted yesterday at 13:04 Share Posted yesterday at 13:04 That Wirtz fee seems high to me. He looks great. Had an unbelievable season the one before this one. There’s absolutely no scope in that sort of fee for him to be anything other than a Salah type club impact or it to be viewed as a waste of money. That’s a lot of eggs in one basket for Liverpool too given they don’t have a striker.
Smal Posted yesterday at 13:27 Share Posted yesterday at 13:27 Wirtz's output is not enough to justify £100m+ imo
Nucasol Posted yesterday at 13:31 Share Posted yesterday at 13:31 Would love him to be an even more expensive Kunt Havertz, barrelling off back to the Bundesliga and leaving the Scousers with a reverse Coutinho situation.
