Other clubs' transfers

It’s so smart and the FFP workaround. I can park my losses at Troyes and just loan/buy them on the cheap. We really should be doing this tbh, although knowing the premier league the moment we try the ban hammer comes

Multi-club ownership is the crowning turd of modern football, and needs banning. Imagine being a fan of Palermo or Strasbourg or any other club with >100 years of proud history, and you wake up one morning to find out yer a Manchester City feeder team? Absolute dogshit.

Weren't we going to buy some Belgian team? Whatever happened with that?

edit: I see that they got relegated last year which may have something to do with it.

Was going to West Ham before they pulled out a few weeks ago

Nordsjaeland must be one of the best run clubs in Europe. Get their players cheap from Ghana and sell on for huge profit

This in bucketloads mate.  I despise it, and hope we don’t ever get involved with the ‘MCO’ horseshit for precisely the reasons you’ve outlined.

Same goes for ‘feeder’ clubs.  Royal Antwerp just won the Belgian league, but they’re still viewed as a ‘feeder’ club for Man Utd.  It’s fucking abysmal.

Interesting, wasn't aware of that.

That must be just about the highest transfer fee ever going into one of the Scandinavian leagues?

Are they linked to a particular academy?

They seem to have a particular hold on Ghana - CIV - Nigeria. They seem to pick up loads of those boys for pennies. They rarely lose money on the "flops" and the successes go for multipliers.

Yeah they're owned by The Right to Dream academy in Ghana so they get first dibs on their players.

Kudus, Damsgard, Emre Mor, Adingra, Sulemena have all come through in recent years

Our partnership with Antwerp ended over 10 years ago.

That’s an insane pedigree

The Savio transfer was reported as him being bought by the City Football Group in 2022 and assigned to Troyes. Loaned to Girona in 2023 and now Man City have bought him back, probably way, way under market value.

The whole thing is rancid. City have and continue to be allowed to run amok and now have a global hegemony on football.

Hope they win the next few PL's and CL's at a canter and show the football world up.

Im sure the uk media will give it the same level of scrutiny and vitriol that our related party transfers they completely imagined received!

There was a report this morning (possibly Telegraph) saying City would have to prove Fair Market Value but I only paid attention to the headline but yep nothing of the intensity of our made up Saudi deals

Aye, MCO is absolutely rancid and such a clever way to subvert any rules. But ultimately you either have to join in or be left behind these are choices your left with. It’s quite clear since RBFC were allowed to have two clubs play in Europe the rule book was basically thrown out.

It’s another one of those things which makes me wonder what our own strategy is as we’ve been passive good little rule takers to date.

Why not have a meeting and change it straight away, like they did just after our takeover ?

This and buying players and loaning abroad instantly because they can't get work permits yet just seem to be as bad as third party ownership (which was rightly banned).

Just seen Van De Ven recently got the record for fastest sprint ever recorded in the PL

Completely pointless to think, but imagine him in our team playing the LB / third centre back like Dan Burn does, one could dream

Poor Sven has to compete with Van Der Ven, van Dijk, Ake and de Ligt just to get a game for the Oranje
