All it needs is for Salah to get injured and the team collapses - he's single handedly carrying that team.  In the form of his life.

Salah pretty much never gets injured though, he's outrageously durable. Plays around 50 club games plus internationals year after year after year.

He is in the form of his life and any injury to him would undoubtedly hurt their form but they have some of the best depth up front of any of the sides at the top, they’d likely be fine.

Salah is irreplaceable- look at his goals / assists this season. No one is close to matching it. He's the reason they are top of the league.

My God ... that's really decent business for Villa.

Could really see him doing well in the Prem in that Villa team.

Wonder if it spells a change of formation for Villa? He usually plays wide left doesn't he or up front?

Emery usually plays a narrow midfield so not sure where he'll fit in their current system if he's to be a starter

edit: looks like he's predominantly right winger. Sure he played on the left versus us

Think in the Villa setup he can go on the right or on the left, and can even play upfront too.

Can just see the through balls to him from Tielemans already.

I don't value Malen so highly. I think we need brains and not runners on the right side.

Dortmund fans seem happy he is leaving, for whatever reason.

Malen did not impress me in the recent Euros. Seems like another workhorse type player which we do not need.

We'll see. If he goes there I'm going to say he'll be a hit.

Never really seemed to settle into an established role in the Dortmund team.

I think he's such a good finisher when he's on it. So quick and comfortable on the ball too.

For that fee can't see them having any regrets whatsoever.

It’s not. He’ll be discarded by them come end of season. Has no spot in their team, just signing him because they’re desperate and Bailey hasn’t hit previous heights.

He's been underwhelming for two seasons now for Dortmund. Would be a poor signing.

It's never this straight forward.

Cunha was underwhelming at Atletico.

Time will tell. I think he'll be a good fit there.

They’ve got Bailey, Rodgers, Buendia, Philogene already for wide areas. Only because Emery has gone cold on three of them he wants someone new. It’s proper short term thinking.

Only in summer Matseen and Barkley were lauded as astute business, and both of those aren’t favoured by Emery either.

Only positive of the signing is they’ll get most of fee back.

Fiorentina are pushing to sign Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa in January, reports Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb.

27-year-old Chiesa began his career in Florence before leaving in 2022, and the outlet claims his former club are attempting to work out whether they can come to an arrangement over an affordable loan deal.

It adds Liverpool currently pay the Italy forward €7m (£5.8m) a year, which would be out of reach for the Serie A side.
