I hope Arsenal don't break the bank and come for Isak

I could break the  bank and still not be able to buy a luxury yacht.

Maybe Arsenal could though, that's my worry

Duran to Saudi just makes me think that the links to Real Madrid, PSG, etc. were agent talk and that there was not a move available in the near term. Those would still take priority, imo. Boniface made more sense as he'd regressed somewhat this year, has two serious injuries, was being pushed by Schick at his club. Grabbing the money maybe the move for him.

Arsenal would have to break the British transfer record by a significant amount to sign Isak right now. This will not happen.

If Duran is £77m and Watkins £70m+ then Isak is worth double, and that's being conservative. He's twice the player and some. They haven't got a chance.

If Isak moves, he moves to the top. Arsenal aren't that.

They've already commited £60m to sign Zubimendi right? They're not going to spend an additional £150m on top of that to get Isak. Especially as they likely want a left sided forward too.

£65m for Duran and what, £40m to reach the CL last 16? That's an extremely profitable season so far for Villa. Can't be sure if the Duran sale is good or bad in terms of us trying to compete with them for 3rd-5th in the years ahead.

Shouldn't we (ie you, us) be thinking about competing for 1st rather than 3-5th?

I know, I know, I know the answer, but it makes me feel sick admitting it.

Duran going to Saudi just proves that we are absolutely doing the right thing selling him.

Great, great talent, bad agent, bad attitude, clearly saps the energy of the squad, fuck him, that's an impressive return on our investment.

There's no way we could have built anything around him, every single window his agent would be in his ear drumming up some sort of money-spinning move for him.

Emery is right not to want to put up with that shit, so it's a good move from us. Also, not selling him to a rival, either.

Also, I could not give one tenth of one shit for sectarian politics, especially not in football, and also don't care if 'Lizzie is in a box' or anywhere as I am a republican, but really, coming to Birmingham, of all fucking places, singing songs about the IRA, parading down New Street (past both the pubs involved) dressed like paramilitaries, all that is only going to have one outcome.

What a bunch of absolute fucking wankers.
