Those valuations were ridiculous.

Waitrose ain't cheap.

What's more ridiculous Anderson at 100m or space x at 1.6trillion?

Couple of the papers saying Anderson to City for £65m, seems a massive drop off in valuation from a month ago.

We should try and bring him back at that price

Knocks me sick him going there like. As someone on here posted a while ago, the thought that we had to sell him to avoid 1 charge against us whilst a team with 115 charges goes and bags him doesn't sit right. How much as Pep spent since January 2025?

Probably has a hidden release clause like Gibbs-White had last summer.

At 65 million Anderson would take huge chunk of our budget, and CM is not really a position where we need new faces...

Think people will be assuming one or both of tonali and willock go. Still as you say depends how much we sell anyone for and the other areas that need addressing.

If we used all the "profit" selling tonali for instance to use to buy Anderson back is that too much of an over pay or not.

Personally think we will be priced out if getting him for 80+ especially if he has a good WC.

For me it's a really significant problem if Tonali goes. We either need to transition to a style that dominates the ball or we will need someone with his ability to break up attacks. Otherwise we're taking the only real legs out of our midfield.

I don't think we realise how much work he gets through.

The guy is a stamina machine, how many gut busting sprints have we seen him do in the 93rd minute to catch a break away play and stop an attack? That's a tough profile to replace.

I think people would actually be surprised at where Tonali's defensive numbers actually rank when you compare him to the other midfielders being discussed on the market. He's lower than a lot of them.

Well not sure how that stacks up with him covering loads of ground and breaking up multiple attacks a game.

It's not a duel or interception if you just get to the ball before an opponent or cover the ground they want to run into.

Hmmm ... okay.

Personally, I think he's really overrated on here.

And if and when he moves on this summer and is replaced, I'm pretty certain this will be proven to be the case.

If Tonali goes, then Anderson is decent replacement yes. Willock will certainly leave.

edit. With Bruno and Tonali, (and Miley) we don't need Anderson.

City will offer him more money so we are not in the races.

I want a new CM maybe, but I would lean towards a more creative one, possibly left footed. I'd rather not have to replace Tonali as well.

Depends if we consider any form of shape change a proper holding DM possibly? This would allow Bruno to stay more advanced as we know he's not blessed with recovery pace.

Or if willock goes a more goal scoring /attacking one. Or if we ever want Bruno to get a rest a creative one.

Looking at the links so far it appears we want someone young in but not sure if that's based on willock going only or a tonali replacement.
