I think you take the rough with the smooth with this ownership. It rid us of Ashley and probably gives us a better chance than most at closing the gap to the cartel; at the expense of stuff like having overt Saudi connections during the day-to-day, and reminders that we're only a small part of the portfolio (eg Nunez transfer).

I just don’t think you can expect one part of PIF to not do a deal (eg Nunez) that will in some way disadvantage another part. There’s no way there’s that level of joined up thinking across a fund that’s invested in so many companies.

Obviously going to happen. Basically paid £60M + Nunez for our best striker which was directly funded by our own owners. Embarrassing.

I would’ve actually taken £75m and Nunez for Isak with my hindsight hat on. Nunez would fit right into our style of play

I wanted to bring your attention to a Ghanaian talent that’s starting to appear on the radar: Edmund Baidoo.

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of profile Newcastle should be tracking right now — young, explosive, technically sharp, and with huge development upside. He’s still under the radar for many fans, but trust me, players like this don’t stay hidden for long once bigger clubs start looking.

What I like most is his fearless style and attacking instincts — he plays with confidence and doesn’t look overwhelmed even against stronger opposition. Feels like one of those signings that could look “low-key” today but turn into massive value in a few seasons.

Call me crazy, but I genuinely think in a couple of years he could easily be a €100M+ player if his progression continues. You can screenshot this message :coolsmiley:

Thank you for the information Edmund's agent however, this is a fans forum, it would be more prudent if you contacted the club directly to discuss a potential transfer for your client:

Haha sorry if it came across like that — definitely not his agent 😅 Just a fan who’s been following Newcastle for years and genuinely interested in what other supporters think. I’ve always had a soft spot for African players, so these rumours catch my attention more.

From what I’ve seen it looks almost like a done deal and we might see him in the summer window, that’s why I brought it up. I thought this was the right place for transfer discussions — apologies if I got that wrong

Nah I'm just messing, in all seriousness this is the sort of transfer I want us to be doing more of.

Met him last year when my daughter was mascot for Norwich. Seemed a nice kid. Odd move for him though.

Reportedly wants the move back across the pond for family reasons.

Lad has 3 kids at the age of 26. History of poor decisions.

Likely republican too.

Crackers transfer of the day

I did a double take when I seen it, but I think I'm just old. £20 million 15 years ago is very different to £20 mil today.

It gets you an unproven prospect, or a very average squad player at the top level these days

There are other factors to this given it’s bringing a US international striker “home”. Lad is likely worth way more to a MLS team than any one else.
