Palace play worse football than us. Proper grim to watch.

Played Man Utd off the park on Saturday

Yeah that's absolute shit tbh. Made good, progressive moves in the market and Hodgsons system is nice and settled. They're a counter attacking team, that's not the same thing. Tactically they were outstanding at the weekend, we'll not see anything like it under Bacon.

Imagine saying a team with 20% possession played someone off the park. They executed a counter-attacking game plan to perfection and benefited from a poor team selection and dodgy pen.

It's Palace ffs. Newcastle are better.

Very very questionable that we are.

Zaha is 95% of Palace's threat. Plus Newcastle have Steve Bruce. You're two decisions away from being 20 points better off than them IMO.

20 points.

I didn't say they played you off the park tbf, but they completely outplayed you tactically so it's splitting hairs really imo. There's more than once way to skin a cat, Nostaljaer should try and work out how to win games without penalties. That'd be a good start for him.

I think if you got a good manager in instead of Bruce and Zaha moved on from Palace that's what the swing would be.

Are you trying to suggest Bruce isn’t a good manager!?  :o

Be careful!  That weird guy who keeps jumping to his defence at every opportunity will go radge when he sees what you wrote!!

Don’t think that’s an especially bold prediction, really. Don’t see what neesy’s laughing at...?

Despair likely, knowing that both scenarios won't happen.

Am I the only one that likes Winks? He’s not world class but he keeps things ticking.

That’s where England’s problem is. It’s probably the easiest role in football. Too many decent at ‘keeping things ticking’ but no one capable of doing anything. Ward Prowse possibly.

I actually disagree. England struggle badly for these players at the elite level. When the pressure is on they can’t keep playing it simply and progressively.

It’s what Carrick was great at but never utilised for England. Type of situation, 1-0 down with 5 minutes to go.  Need someone to progress it from midfield to attack. At the WC when behind Henderson kept looking for an ambitious ball and lost it time and again. Something Fernandinho is great at, nothing flashy. 1,2 touches, lateral pass into front players. Push up. Let’s build pressure. I moan about this a lot but English players always look for the Gerrard killer pass. Sometimes keep it In advanced areas and work an opportunity.

Palaces 4-4-2 looked much better than ours. They kept their shape much better. Up against different systems. But within 5 minutes we had wingers making tackles in the box and giving away penalties. We often had our wingers pressed all the way back into a back 6.  Palace didn’t do that.

We also had massive spaces between the lines. Palace were compact.

In the modern era 442 is a counter attacking formation.  We play it to ‘express ourselves’ with the big man small man combo.

Bruce is of the Pardew ilk. That relies on team spirit and determination to get results and clean sheets. He’s not actually good at organising a defence or team shape.

Roy is a limited manager. But he knows how to work a counter attacking 442 on the training ground. Without Zaha, Palace won’t get relegated.

Barca now wanting to block his transfer to Atletico.

The board is trying to get a transfer fee from Atlético. Still think the move will be completed.

The exam thing is hilarious, Italian police getting involved, I presume cheating on a citizenship exam is a kinda serious offence
