I’m of the view that Ashley had wanted Rafa gone since summer and wanted Allardyce.

The only thing that has stopped Rafa getting the sack is the knowledge that PCP would only buy if Rafa is the manager.

That safety net is gone now.

The same Allardyce that he sacked?

And then this summer told Sky that it was the one decision he regretted and how sorry he was.

In the same interview he said how amazing Rafa was.

You don’t think he hasn’t learned from Keegan?

This is where we are all going wrong as a fans, we paint Ashley as a stupid buffoon. He has done many things wrong to this club, but it is all calculated, it is all purported.

He is a billionaire.

He is far from stupid.

If there isn't reinforcements Rafa should walk the day after the window closes. He's just wasting his time while fatty is here.

Rafa is a bigger man than that, and there's still a small chance the takeover will happen later this year.

There will never be a takeover imo.

I agree with this sadly. He can just sit there and ignore everyone and I think he will.

Many more miserable years ahead of us. I think he's here until he dies/retires. What a very depressing thought.

Plenty of people who are capable in one sense are also capable of mitigating ignorance and inability to change. Very little to do with intelligence. He has a knack for some things clearly, people and the volatile reality of sport are not one of them.

It doesn't take a great deal of intelligence when your two main traits are having lots of money and not spending any money. Being rich doesn't mean you know anything about running a football club and if you don't take Ashley as an example, there are plenty of others who prove that at other clubs.

His biggest failing was never putting a proper professional management coaching/player scouting structure in place. His never ending reliance on clowns and deadbeats and in the case of some just conmen.

They were cheap.

His bottom line is always cost cutting, even if it put the asset at risk.

He employs those people across the board, presumably because he's all of those traits himself.

Ashley was well known for his fake closing down sales, during Shitdirect's infancy, to crush local independent stores.

Serial conman attracting likeminded dealers (to Sports Direct United). No surprise.

He'll see out the season and, assuming we stay up, he will stick around to see if the cunt will actually provide him with enough resources during the summer. If he doesn't, he'll leave and consequently put the club in yet another disastrous situation. (Which wouldn't be Rafa's fault and more than understandable that he would look elsewhere.)

A big club will move for rafa soon and this era will be over  :'(

Isn't Arsenal sitting on a half billion "warchest" or summat? Figure they'll cut Le Arse loose a year early and go in for wor Rafa come the summer and let him buy the universe.
