Rafa’s off folks but don’t worry, Wenger or Mourinho will rock up instead.

I guess the worrying part of that article is quoting sources close to Ashley saying the takeover is a publicity stunt then again we have had articles like that all week.

I have never found John Richardson very reliable even despite his links to Benitez.

No doubt the Chronicle will write millions of articles on this and retweet over and over again.

"Ready to move on from Rafa"- a clear sign that if this guy is legit he is also legitimately fucking stupid.

He's not legit is he? No-one could be that fucking stupid.

Why no decision on Rafa yet ?

Whose stalling it him or Ashley?

Take away the takeover and we'd all be raging and sweaty with this now.

Hmmmm

Well of course we would. Guess its lucky there is sufficient evidence of a takeover then :)

But assuming you're implying it's a massive conspiracy, will we be any less raging and sweaty if it collapses and Rafa hasn't signed?

So many people laughed at the thought of him going to Celtic

For me, it makes sense that Ashley is using the sale of the club as one last act of vengance against the fans by hanging out to dry, the manager we all want to stay.

Reading Lee Ryder's article today it doesn't sound like the club have budged on anything to even meet Benitez half way. His future does seem to hinge on a takeover happening and even then its not certain if the new owners would want to keep him. Without a takeover and Benitez Newcastle will be in big trouble next season just from reading interviews from the players they are just as desperate as the fans to see a change of direction at the club.

I'd think it's more Rafa trying to force a hand from somewhere. Can't see him going to Celtic, Rafa loves building things abdominal there's nothing there to do so.

Sounds like he means it as somewhere to wind down his career, not yet.

Didn't the Sheikh's people already say that the contract talks with Benitez were not their concern and should be dealt with by the current owner? Tbh that is strictly true, they can hardly interfere when the takeover hasn't been confirmed. At the moment this is purely a matter between Ashley and Rafa.

We heard that from that Ben guy who also said that mad guy on Twitter was the groups lawyer. Can’t really take anything as gospel
