Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Recommended Posts

Any new letters from Mandy, Stiffy?

Not spoke to her in about a year.

Anyway at one of the magpie group meetings I got talking to Caulkin, he seemed to be under the impression that she would be back this summer. I think her interview she did in a Middle Eastern newspaper a couple of months ago back up those claims as well.

We will see, as ever, it will only come down to if the fat cunt really wants to sell. Theirs plenty of suitors out there for us, just need to shift the elephant in the room, quite literally.

As has been the case for a decade now sadly.

Once again. If he has any business sense he’d sort out a deal in the next few weeks and sell before the summer window opens, allowing him to maximize his pricing. Hell he should even be getting all approvals within the city to expand ground or develop new training ground etc. make it easier for the buyer to step in and not discount him.

All the bullshit rumours will start within days I'm guessing, nailed on.

Bishop and Barnes PR spin are just warming up as we speak

Just like anything that anyone ever buys its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and Mikes asking price is 100m over what anyone is willing to pay for the club imo as theres added costs for other investments need lumping on top too

First team squad,Training and facilities etc

In short hes here until he croaks

Sold now that we are officially safe?

The only thing being safe has done is increase the asking price significantly and that will always change anyways if someone actually meets it

We're stuck with the fat scumbag until his heart gives way

Club PR has already started tonight - talk of a £100 million 'war-chest' (over 2 seasons) in the Mirror.

One said "equivalent of £25m per window", I bet they didn't take in to account that Fatty means for the £100m to cover wages as well!  :hmm:

out of interest is there club you could roughly equate us to in the PL in terms of not having an owner injecting cash in?  bournemouth, brighton, cardiff maybe?

just wondering what the comparison in spends would be for clubs relying solely on TV and commercial income vs ours because that is what the media should arguably be calling out

if ashley is going to set the rules of the game then he should be hold to account by them

Bournemouth and Brighton are bankrolled by their owners.

are they?  i know bournemouth make the odd big signing but they're hardly throwing money about...brighton have blown a lot since coming up but it's something like £100m over 2 seasons when TV money comes in at +£100m per season

would just find it an interesting comparison

That’s about 1 competent PL player per window.

To be fair nobody really spends money anymore in January unless clubs are in danger of relegation. Its still a small amount to spend though over 2 seasons. Did we not spend around £40 million in the summer after promotion yet the budget only goes up by £10 million after 2 years in the Premier League?

Rules

We lobbed an extra £30m onto our wage bill last season for no reason other than to make our results look worse.

no i'm aware of that but he's saying "no cash injections" and the media just peddle it verbatim, was wondering if there were comparable clubs to us you could point at and call it out (if you were a competent journalist)

One of the things that fucks me off the most regarding a sale is that he seemingly wants £300-400m for us, yet he runs us like we are worth about 5p and claims the club don't have any money any chance he gets. Make your mind up, cunt.

Value of the club never changes, it's always more than anyone offers. He says £300m, gets an offer for it suddenly it's £350m. We stayed up, the toilets have had a spring clean, they put up a new Alba 32' HD Ready TV in the staff canteen....you know any excuse so his bluff can't be called.
