jackyboy
Not as exciting as Onana though
ExiledGeordie
I think he’s fine to deputise for a good few months or second half of the season if necessary. If there’s concerns about Pope longer term we might look to recruit next summer.
andycap
Just hoping he can work on his sweeper keeper part of his game if it's him eddie decides to go with. Karius looked half decent at it in a few friendlies and cup final.
Guest
I've been to the Stats Shelf and I have summoned forth the mighty comparison table based on incomplete and questionable data. Basically tells us nowt we don't already know. Nick Pope tall and good in the area. Dubravka better with passing. Both have similar goal saving ability. In conclusion, we'll be fine and will turn on Dubravka just as quickly as we turn on Nick Pope when he doesn't save every single shot at goal. Not having Pope will cost us a few goals, certain of it, but not as much as not having Isak & Wilson at the other end.
Pilko
Not his fault for the defeat but fucking hell, I reckon I could find a local Sunday morning keeper who'd save that third one. Piss poor at his near post when it's the only place the guy can hit it.
Aiston
Poor for the third. Can only think he expected whoever was tracking the Everton player to do something other than run next to him
Robbo2
2nd and 3rd goals... Edited December 7, 2023 by Robbo2
SiLvOR
Already sick of him being rooted to his line Footwork and passing was good, though.
54
Third goal was a little suspect, but it was a decent finish in fairness, even if Dubs should probably save it. Thought he was alright overall through, looks like a walking coffin mind.
Newcastle Fan
Can't blame him for much to be honest, his first game back in a while and wasn't helped at all by his defenders.

Shearergol
Hasn’t played for ages. Let’s ignore that.
El Prontonise
At the pace of that shot for the 1st would be an incredible save to keep it out.
Whitley mag
Doesn’t fill me with any confidence would prioritise a new keeper in Jan.
WideopenMag
I'd give Karius a chance.
Wolfcastle
Hasn't instilled confidence in those in front of him. That'll drop them a few %
Yorkie
Looked absolutely shite, like. We'll soon see the difference Pope make to our defence if Dubs carries on like that. Poor in every department really.

Kid Icarus
It was the anti-Pope performance, decent kicking and on the ball, poor shot stopping and command of crosses. He should improve with more games though hopefully
Shak
It's harsh to say he "should" save the first goal. However, I think Pope would have saved it.

I agree he looked shaky but he wasn’t shite and was bound to be a bit rusty. No doubt Pope is bar better though.
