54
So who do people think was Player of the Season?
Big Geordie
The captain, for me. A model of consistency, leadership and setting the tone on the pitch.
TRon
Tough one, could have gone for either Perez or Shelvey, but went for the captain instead, we really struggled when he was out during that dodgy spell in the winter.
HawK
Dubravka
Tiresias
Has to be Lascelles. Imperious. If it was since Christmas Diame, Shelvey, Dubravka and even Perez would all be shouts.
Bimpy474
Mo Diame, so crucial to us since the turn of the year, utter beast of a player since then. Such an amazing turn around.
summerof69
Lascelles. A leader and been brilliant right through out the season
Si
It's a combination of players they have all stepped up at various points but Diame has been imperious. He's grown and improved so much.
toon25
Aye, wor Jamaal. Lead by example and we were shit when he was out. Also chinned Diame into a world beater. Grown exponentially under Rafa’s leadership. Love the bloke.

ponsaelius
I'd still give it to Lascelles, because he's been key all season. Diame, Shelvey and Perez had phenomenal second halves of the season to push him close. Dubravka and Kenedy have been outstanding for their impact but haven't played enough games. Disco
Says it all that there are a few candidates. Lascelles for me though.
Stifler
Tough one, Shelvey has came on leaps and bounds, Merino was great but missed most of the season due to injury. Las Elle’s has to be the one though. When we went through our rough patch it was because he was missing.

Conjo
Lascelles the obvious choice. Even though you feel others have done well you can't really give it to anyone else. Hes been performing all season, and the little period he was out showed how important he is. Shelvey is the top contender for me, but Lascelles edges him due to more consistent performances. Perez has done really well too, but more so in the last half of the season, same with Diame who has been a beast in the middle in 2018. Special mention to Dubravka as well who I suspect have made some vital saves and interceptions that definitely have saved us some points.

Yorkie
You can put so many names at the end of "we'd be relegated without...", and Lascelles is the obvious one who finishes that sentence. But Perez, man. The guy has done so fabulously well, especially when you consider how bereft of goals our actual strikers have been. We're a solid, solid unit and Lascelles is obviously key to that, but it's the goals and wins which have kept us up so comfortably and Perez had been ultra significant. Rebellious
Perez,Lascelles,Shelvey,Ritchie,Diame for me. Maybe if we had a Striker the top two would swap around.
