It’s interesting to me, I don’t dislike Longstaff and often finds the stick he gets unfair.

I have seen a lot of comments praising his performance last night, I don’t recall anything of note standing out in a positive way.

the below clip did stand out at the time in a bad way, that’s so poor defensively from Longstaff imo, he should be following Felix into the box.

im not saying he had a bad game overall but I don’t recall anything amazing.

He was decent, he arrived in the right place at the right time a few times, mainly to collect a loose ball where someone else had made a mistake or a press.

Made a few mistakes as well.

I’m trying not to fixate on his mistakes and try to see more of the things people say he does.

It looked even worse from the camera behind them. What's he even doing?

You don't notice him much because on the ball he doesn't do much, his main value is closing down space. Last night when you have Tonali, Willock and Joelinton also sprinting to press hard, it can make difficult to play your way through it and Chelsea got caught several times early on and we scored our first goal because of it. Although that was more due to Tonali and Joelinton rather than Sean specifically, but he plays his part in the press.

Not this again  Absolutely pointless stat. Subbed off when losing in 2 of those games and we got a draw and a win. Our two best performances this season came when he didn’t start. Results just didn’t quite go our way.

I mean all the lies, bots and racism on Twitter is bad. But the football accounts tweeting out meaningless stats is right up there with the worst of that hellsite

Sensational today. That's why you keep him around, he's got it in the locker to really show up when he's not playing every single minute with an injury.

Did the dirty work well, was really aggressive with his blocks and tackles. The usual underlapping runs were there, as was his covering for Schar (below par again IMO) when he stepped in to press.

Much better on the ball was the most noticeable thing for me. Nowt flash, just looked to move it quickly and keep it simple. The 3 in the middle finally interchanged really well. Willock almost in a bit of a free role at times and Joelinton staying wide/playing his usual 3 positions at once.

Love his run in to that half spade between CB and LB. Top class today the weight of his pass to Gordon is perfect to setup the first time cross.
