Need to remember he’s only got 18 months left on his contract. His value is already depreciating.

Yeah. Can’t imagine he’d be worth much in the summer?

I find it really hard to gauge what he is worth. As I am terrible at knowing what the going rate is these days and all transfers sound stupidly expensive to me. Like I haven’t adjusted from 2005

My view is perhaps somewhat skewed. As I don’t particularly rate him. But even then, you look at what other players have gone for. £12m does seem low.

Especially when you factor in the amount of minutes he has had at this level, recently playing regularly for a team that finished 4th and 7th, CL games, PL goals etc.

I also feel like we have outgrown him. To the point where recently, he seems to have fallen behind Miley and Willock in the pecking order and is now 6th choice CM. Albeit that is based on a very small sample size.

Not to say his skillset wouldn’t be of more use elsewhere. I think he’d be a great fit for how Everton play.

But I can already hear the Everton seagulls booing. If people think our fans are toxic at times towards him. Then imagine what they’ll be like when he decides to dive instead of making a decision or when he passes straight to the opposition for the second or third time in quick succession

12 million seems very low in today's market, even more so in January transfer window.

Got to be aiming for 20-25m imo.

It’s a double edged sword. We need to sell to raise money for PSR but nae fucker has any headroom either

I think the Saudi ship has sailed. Other clubs seem to have milked it far more effectively than us.

It's not like the club have many saleable assets that would interest Saudi clubs.

The ones the club have tried to shift over there have all rejected moves.

he’s been getting the Almiron frozen out treatment for about 6 weeks now hasn’t he? If we can get £12m for him now it’s probably worth taking because he’ll not get a fee at all come summer if his appearances are limited to 5 minutes every fortnight.

Would be nice if our owners applied some joined up thinking regarding their “asset”.

Other clubs happy for us to be held back but our owners keep helping them out by signing their players.

So if PIF (Al Nassr) bid £70 mil for Longstaff there are no rules to stop it?

There are because our owners are related.

The villa owners are not so related party transactions aren’t relevant.

Totally guessing. But I wonder if we have our eye on someone this window?

But we need Almiron and one of Kelly or Longstaff to be moved on for us to get him in and comply with the PSR bullshit.

I can’t imagine we would be looking to shift all 3 this window. But you never know.

If we sold Longstaff, I'd love it we managed to get Angel Gomes on a free

We have an abundance of physicality in midfield, but he would give us a different dynamic in possession, I'm thinking when we play teams at home who sit back where the likes of Longstaff / Joelinton etc aren't as effective

No way does anyone pay north of £15 million for Longstaff man, surely.

Kalvin Phillips cost West Ham £7-8m for a season loan on massive wages. Think he cost Ipswich £9m on loan with more to pay to make permanent.

Longstaff probably cost you 1/3 the wages of Phillips so more could go into the fee.
