Newcastle Fan
That was a peak Schar performance tonight, all it was missing was a thunderbastard strike, our scouting department must find a player like him because once he's gone we'll really miss his qualities. Emotic
So he can play in midfield after all!
JT24
Not his best game today. Really hope we get a top class RCB in the summer.
Vaj
He will be fine as a backup option next season but he needs replacing. His lack of pace is catching up on him and even his passing is all over the place now. Has to be Botman and a new centre back next season. Burn and Schar as backups
Tiotes Witch Doctor
He's been on the decline for a while now, luckily we already seem to be aware of this hence looking for a new RCB.

Geordie Ahmed
The RCB we sign ideally has to be quick
TRon
Was probably the worst defender on the pitch today. Awful.

Hall was better in the second half but was absolutely torn to shreds in the first half. He had one decent footrace and tackle then a good shielding ball moment, which is more than the other two. Sibierski
He’s reached Trippier levels for me. On giving day he’s still immense, but being rolled out each game, limitations are more on show and more bad games are coming on average. If he wanted to stay on a one year deal, I’d still keep him as the backup RCB otherwise this is his last season and I bloody hope he ends with a cup because he has been the best CB in my lifetime (like 97 onwards). Keggy_Keagal
Can't have Schar and Trippier on that right side of defence against sides with good movement and pace up top. If Schars starting have to have Livramento in or Botman at right centre back if it's Trippier
The College Dropout
Schar has been poor for some time hasn’t he ?
Shays Given Tim Flowers
Yeah, very inconsistent with his passing, often gifting the ball in dangerous areas. His positioning has been really slack and his industry in recovery is starting to leave a lot to be desired.
Cf
You can see why we were looking to buy a CB in the summer. Once again PSR ladies and gentlemen. Even if money was available anything we spent limits what we could do in future windows so presumably the call in the end was we thought we could get another year out of the defence we had. I think it's pretty clear that Trippier and Schar are past their peak and well into the decline phase. Trippier I still think is one of the most impactful signings in the clubs history. And Schar has low key been one of the leagues best defenders. Age catches up with everyone. The club clearly identified it was an area we needed to address but the rules are really limiting our ability to do so.

We could have had Huijsen in the summer for 12 million mind, don’t think PSR is to blame for everything, recruitment needs refined and hopefully that’s what’s now happening. Benwell Lad
Love Fab's ability on the ball and what he gives us, BUT those over confident, usually straight, passes he makes from the back which instantly turns the game against us in the final third are becoming a real concern. It's almost like you know it's going to happen then it does. Sometimes even the classiest defenders just have to minimise risk and put their foot through the ball.
