He will be fine as a backup option next season but he needs replacing. His lack of pace is catching up on him and even his passing is all over the place now.

Has to be Botman and a new centre back next season. Burn and Schar as backups

There was a moment where Haaland went through in the first half, where Dan Burn looked like Anthony Gordon relative to Schar.

Was probably the worst defender on the pitch today. Awful.

Close call between him Hall and Tripps.

The RCB we sign ideally has to be quick

And not prone to passing the ball to the other team in dangerous places..Ideally not at all, lol.

Hall wasn't the worst defender at all to me. Schar wasn't good, Tripps was bad.

Hall was better in the second half but was absolutely torn to shreds in the first half. He had one decent footrace and tackle then a good shielding ball moment, which is more than the other two.

Yup, against Savinho. Was a very good defensive play.

He’s reached Trippier levels for me. On giving day he’s still immense, but being rolled out each game, limitations are more on show and more bad games are coming on average.

If he wanted to stay on a one year deal, I’d still keep him as the backup RCB otherwise this is his last season and I bloody hope he ends with a cup because he has been the best CB in my lifetime (like 97 onwards).

You can see why we were looking to buy a CB in the summer.

Once again PSR ladies and gentlemen. Even if money was available anything we spent limits what we could do in future windows so presumably the call in the end was we thought we could get another year out of the defence we had.

I think it's pretty clear that Trippier and Schar are past their peak and well into the decline phase.

Trippier I still think is one of the most impactful signings in the clubs history.

And Schar has low key been one of the leagues best defenders.

Age catches up with everyone. The club clearly identified it was an area we needed to address but the rules are really limiting our ability to do so.

We could have had Huijsen in the summer for 12 million mind, don’t think PSR is to blame for everything, recruitment needs refined and hopefully that’s what’s now happening.

Love Fab's ability on the ball and what he gives us, BUT those over confident, usually straight, passes he makes from the back which instantly turns the game against us in the final third are becoming a real concern. It's almost like you know it's going to happen then it does.

Sometimes even the classiest defenders just have to minimise risk and put their foot through the ball.
