Just walked past him in the wild wearing his civvies. Such a handsome stylish hunk of a man.

In case anyone else ever sees him in public, here is some advice I found invaluable:

Did you squat or run on the spot in front of him?

Miss multiple areas of his game imo. He's still the best we have on the ball, both in terms of passing and driving forward, and we also miss his aggressive defensive style stepping up to win the ball back high and setting the tone. I appreciate Thiaw has been very good, but we were probably better with Schar and Burn in those early weeks.

Always assumed he’d be off on a free back to Basel at the end of the season. Not going to be get more than a couple of mil as a fee so would be daft to let him go in January unless someone is lined up.

Let him go at the end of the season if he wants to. Be mad to let him leave in Jan.

If there's a circa £5m offer, he can go really, especially if we are able to bring in the young CB 6 months early in Jan.

Would imagine we’d do well to get more than £500k given his age and contract situation.

Would find it hard to see us getting an offer that would outweigh having him here for the second half of the season.

Nobody is paying that for someone who will be 34 with 6 months left on his contract.

People have short memories, keeping the experience of Trippier was vital (not letting him go to Bayern), no need to let them (experienced players) leave mid season for a pittance.

Especially Fab, he’s fantastic and could easily play in 25 odd more games by the end of the season.

Thiaw's been very good, but Fab still has something that Thiaw either doesn't have, hasn't developed, or is reluctant to use and that's long diagonals.

While we're in this state of not knowing how we're going to get better, little things like that can make all the difference, so it wouldn't surprise me if he started getting game time again soon.
