He really is a dinosaur, and not even a good one. He's the s*** one that plodded around munching on leaves, just getting fat and waiting for the better more exciting dinosaurs to come along and eat the s*** out of him.

Fat f***ing cock-knocker.

He's probably saying this only because he thinks in simplistic terms, but it's actually very patronising, and he should know better. He's effectively saying Steve Bruce should be judged on his local roots, and his actual managerial ability shouldn't be questioned. Does he think all managers should get a free pass if they are local then?

I read it differently and think he's almost marginalising Bruce. Reckon he is purely saying you can't blame him for taking the job and it's Ashley's fault for giving it to him when he's not up to it.

So after saying it’s too early to be changing tactics, etc, he throws the system he’s used the past few years out the window to copy the one used by his predecessor.

Should have just done this from day one. That half was pretty much a typical Rafa half. Little possession, hanging on in, limiting their space in the final third but breaking when possible.

why would you change it?  he's pretty much inherited the exact same squad except we have 2 different attackers

anyone with an ounce of sense wouldn't have touched that system, which is why he's so shit

Wanted to make Shelvey a big part of his plans, which wasn't smart at all. Forced him into the team at the expense of one of the supporting attacking midfielders.

At least we know now that we were all stupid to get angry about losing a world class, multi-decorated manager who wanted to stay and build a legacy, and replacing him with a Championship manager who has won absolutely nothing.
