Being a statistical anomaly to such an absurd extent is usually a bad sign. It suggests the approach is either a) catastrophically unsustainable or b) the result of quite a profound and radical tactical insight from Steve Bruce.

Still, Bruce has umpteen flaws but not going to pay much attention to that stat. Second half v Sheff Utd for example we let them have the ball all they wanted. We’re set up to counter-attack.

Needs to get Dummett out of the team and Lejeune back in asap. Needs Longstaff out of the side. Today was more like the sort of result, tactics and substitutions I was expecting from him.

22 points from 17 games. Rafa picked up 27 points from his last 17 games where the squad & formation was a lot closer to Bruce’s than what the first 17 games of the season were.
