Geordie Ahmed
He was brilliant, think the technical side of the game is still an issue for him but against Burnley he wasn't up against one of the better midfields so that didn't matter as much Hopefully he can stay fit because he's been stop start for quite a while

Sibierski
He was like a 6/10 for me. Still bad with the ball, involved in petty stuff that wasn’t needed, but his combative style helps ensure midfield doesn’t completely capitulate when the others are playing worse. He was the best of the three.
Geogaddi
Even during his bad run of form I still maintain we are a better side with him playing , just gives us a lot of bite and other players will hate playing against him . We certainly wouldn't have rolled over in the derby if he was playing .
AyeDubbleYoo
I honestly think he loses the ball less than Bruno and Sandro at the moment. Obviously he's not trying the things they are, but maybe we also benefit from that in a way.
La Parka
He just sets the tone. Without him we are even frailer in the middle. He's really good at holding the ball, something no one else can really do.

andycap
Top notch him and hally where our stand outs. This technical spiel that gets banded about like pope with his kicking is wrong when Bruno tonali give the ball away even more than him over a ninety. 😂
Nine
Honestly think there’s a good chance we lose that one last night without him in the side Edited December 31, 2025 by Nine

Holloway
Could be just the ticket getting him back ar this crucial time. Even if he is slowing up a bit he still could be very useful. Sir Joel Inton
It’s so refreshing having players who care about the club. Years of players having ice baths in wheelie bins and none of them called Ashley out.

He was the best of the three. We. Are so dependent on his physicality to see games out. His ability to get around the pitch at good intensity. With Howe I’m pretty much ‘it is what it is ‘ with his tactics and management style. It’s pretty much proven and largely for me about whether we do it well or not rather than do it at all. But I do think being reliant on this physicality has a ceiling. I was thinking Wolte on for Joelinton to maybe play a bit more football would’ve been a good approach but like… that’s not Eddie’s style and he seemingly has no desire to pivot. And Joelinton was 100% needed to keep doing what we were doing good enough. I think Ramsey will need a full Howe pre season if he’s ever going to succeed here. He needs to up his physicality and presence in n a game. I think Anderson toook a year or so to get there but then injury disrupted him

I said recently I thought the lack of progress was impacting the squad. The project feels like it’s stagnating and that will impact the players. Turnbull2000
Needs said. We have an 8th ranked budget, 8th ranked ground capacity (and set to fall further down) and mid-ranked training facilities (if that). Winning the LC felt glorious, but feels there's no project to sell any more, no further upwards trajectory on the cards.

The problem is we are allowed to spend on stuff which makes no difference on the pitch, but not on the squad which could launch us into the stratosphere. That itself is a contradiction.
