But yeah he went full radge, I bet the refs arse went for a second Great to have this Joe back, it was obvious he was carrying something and maybe should have been rested earlier but glad he got that time out so we get this version of him back, not the most technically gifted footballer but we're a different animal with him in the team like this and I love how he bulldozes his way out of tight situations with the ball bouncing around between his feet, he never looks in full control of it but somehow always is. We've looked much better with him back in the team and on form. It's a massive catch 22 as we know he also has clear weaknesses on the ball as a midfielder that often compound our ability to retain controlled possession. I feel like him & (current) Tonali together compounds that technique issue. I feel like you can carry one midfielder in a 3 with those limitations, but we have two as it stands. Bruno loses the ball but he's often trying things rather than cheaply surrendering it. Feels a strong case right now that our best midfield 3 would be Miley-Bruno-Joelinton.
