A team of 11 Joelintons would simply not lose any game.

He would have closed down the goal if Thiaw didn't bring Olma down.

There will never be anything sexier than watching this absolute unit run the length of the pitch chasing down some pathetic 5ft nothing skill merchant.

You know within 5 minutes of the game starting if he’s in beast mode.

He's class.  His passing, decision-making and concentration have all improved massively versus his dodgy patches last season.

And everyone knows what he gives us off the ball, there can't be a midfielder on the planet who sees him on our teamsheet and doesn't think "ffs".

They would also hardly score

A team of 11 joelintons would be telepathic as they are all the same person.

So they'd score loads

Think he's been more assertive with the ball since Bruno went down, and oddly enough it has improved his ball retention and use of the ball, as he's more aggressive and forward thinking with the ball right away.

Hope he keeps that up even once Bruno comes back in.

He's getting to operate more centrally with Bruno out, he's almost becoming the hub of the midfield. That opens up the pitch for him and we are starting to see some of his ball skills, not just the wrecking machine many have pegged him as.

Got a bit of Rodman about him there.

Yeah Big Joe in those sunglasses is pure 90s vibes in all the right ways.

Trying to DDT Palmer about 5 seconds after stepping on the pitch was probably a bit much, and for the best that Palmer avoided it.

However, he made a difference to our physicality in the closing stages, which was needed. And now he should be nicely warmed up to crank the beast mode up to the max on Wednesday.

Thought he was the only one today that really played the game as though his life depended on it, and was actually decent on the whole alongside that. The rest were varying degrees of off their game to hideous.

  • 3 weeks later...

I can't believe a) Howe trusted him to go out there and not get booked, b) how thick he was to get booked and c) why we couldn't just play Ramsey today and have him guaranteed available for the next two.

That said he's so totally fucking shit with the ball it's ultimately a blessing that we'll be forced to go with Ramsey next week.

Get the feeling that he'll be away in the summer, particularly if Howe is too.

A bit of a myth this is. He’s been much better on the ball the second half of the season.

Had a 76% pass rate today, higher than Tonali, Gordon and Murphy also better than players like Munoz and Hughes for Palace. 2/2 long passes, 4 attempted passes in the final third.

No idea why we played him when he only needed to avoid a yellow today. He’d have been more important against Bournemouth and Arsenal than today.

Just about had enough of his predictable yellow card every game. A lot of his challenges are that of a forward out of position. I would look to cash in in the summer and give Ramsey a starting spot next season. Same goes with Tonali with Miley dropping in.

He's still crap with the ball, that's every fourth pass that didn't hit a black and white shirt. Using our "fuck I've got the ball" Track and Field FC players as a benchmark or a like for like foul merchant like Hughes doesn't prove he's any use with the ball.
