Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

Surely this means Isak plays wide when Wilson returns, or Wilson in some kind of inside forward role/up top with Isak. Either that or Anderson comes in from the start.

Our wide options outside of ASM are absolutely dire. Murphy gets the most stick, but they are all equally ineffective and well below the standard required. Can’t even split them for shitness.

With our lack of goals and creativity, it seems like Wilson and Isak need to be on the pitch if we can make it work formation-wise.

We need to view him as another Callum Wilson at this point. He's fragile.

Need to go with the same approach we had in the striker position. Need a first team level left winger to come in.

Need more than one, Almiron, Fraser and Murphy have no place in this squad going forward

I meant in addition to the right winger we still need to add, not to mention the central midfielder too.

This guy always seems to take ages to recover, and even when he's back fit it takes him a fair while to get back up to speed again.

Agree with Kaka ideally we need two wingers. You can't rely on him to stay fit at all and just view it as a bonus when he is.

We do need two new wingers but ASM has played in 35, 25 and 26 PL matches for us. That's almost 29 games per season on average. The three seasons before joining us he played 34, 30 and 34 games in Ligue 1. It's frustrating that he's injured but this feels a bit like re-writing history after a frustrating set of results.

Much better than Fraser going forward that’s for sure. Never sure how ASM would perform against a team that sits in, much better in an open attacking game from both sides, but course he’d have had an impact more than Fraser did.

ASM last season, would have got little joy today but the Maxi we witnessed before injury could have unlocked them.

Need a first choice winger who can play right side in Jan.

When Wilson is fit Isak will be the right sided forward.

Trippier himself said e has the skills to play anywhere so you can stick your statistics up your arse. As if the history of a 22 year old determines their future.

Nah, because when he comes back he takes a while to get back up to speed, and then people are always wondering if he's fit yet.

We can't rely on him to the extent we do right now it's ridiculous. We need to find someone that can seriously challenge him in that position.

Of course but I also think it's kneejerking to say he is as unreliable as Wilson when he has played 34, 30, 34, 26, 25 and 35 league games during his career so far. Could get more fragile with age but he's still relatively young.
