Dr.Spaceman
The Saudi's have fired the doorman of their embassy who allowed this horrible act to take place. As such we have no issues with the takeover of NUFC and are pleased to formally announce that PIF have passed all required checks.
manorpark
UK Government to issue sanctions against Saudi individuals for human rights abuses by Saudi state. Source - https://www.ft.com/content/38cd4b7e-32fd-11ea-a329-0bcf87a328f2 The article states "The UK could also include sanctions against citizens of Saudi Arabia implicated in the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018". I don't think the PIF had anything to do with that.
Darth Crooks
"Future targets of the regime may include those who commit unlawful killings perpetrated against journalists and media workers, or activity motivated on the grounds of religion or belief," they said. BBC News - UK to impose sanctions independently for first time https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53303100 That could be us fucked then. NUFC_Chris
Nah, don't think it's relevant to us. The Government have already pretty much said they'd welcome the investment. The key word in all of this is "individuals".
James
I don’t believe it will break the deal, in fact on the contrary this could be the final thing PL are waiting on - to demonstrate to the world that they made sure individuals aren’t in the sanctioned list. mrmojorisin75
only way it's relevant to us is if al rumayyan (sp) or someone on PIF board is one of the people on the list
Shearergol
only way it's relevant to us is if al rumayyan (sp) or someone on PIF board is one of the people on the list In which case they will be taken off the PIF board, surely?

David Icke - Son of God
I wouldn’t worry about the sanction stuff. It will absolutely be used for the benefit of the UK government which probably means any Saudis it does impact won’t be part of the MBS friendly ruling elite. On a related note, I’d recommend listening to a podcast called TRASHFUTURE. It’s ostensibly a left wing comedy podcast, however they recently did a pretty grim episode about the UK’s role in arming the Saudis and explored the broader relationship between the two states (episode is called Atrocity Exhibition IIRC). After listening to it I’m more convinced than ever the deal will go through, but I now feel very grubby
Miggys First Goal
Be just our luck that Yasir Al-Rumayyan was sitting in the room while Khashoggi was being bone-sawed to death.
New Beginnings
Not a chance they will implicate anyone associated with PIF or the Saudi Royal Family. This would effectively bar them from entering the country or having any association with any British company.

Chris_R
It's just because of Brexit, doubt there'll be any actual difference to who we trade with. If anything, because Brexit is such a terrible idea economically, we'll be desperate to trade with literally anyone. There's zero chance we pie off the EU and then tell the Saudis to jog on as well. That's just not happening.
morpeth mag
Also, given it is possible that someone not associated with PIF will take the rap from the FO for killing journalists then that clears the EPL to approve PIF in their ODT.
Guest chopey
After Wednesday this week, get the Man City pounding out of the way, combination of we can't have the new owners first game to be a big defeat and it will be good if Ashleys last game is a massive negative on his whole tenure, Bruce completes the final 4 games and then sails of to a Bacon Island until the next 18 month job comes along. Of course the UK who have a trade deal and want a bigger trade deal with Saudi Arabia due to Brexit will impose sanctions on MBS.
Chris_R
There's literally 0% chance that the UK government impose any kind of sanctions on Saudi Arabia. That's right at the very top of the "not happening" list. In 6 months time they'll be about the only country in the world we'll do any kind of meaningful amount of trading with. SUPERTOON
Saw someone on twitter mention that the premier league could be monitoring the piracy figures from SA since the restart to see if they have really clamped down.
