Stifler
Them permanently banning BeIN isn’t going to make things happen quicker or easier.

SUPERTOON
Sounds like a step they would take if the takeover had or was about to fail, not if it was going through.

Stifler
Saudi Sports TV incoming, buying the rights to everything including the next world cup, fuck you Qataries Qatar already own the right for next season. There is no way they are selling them to Saudi Arabia, no matter how much they will pay.

Alberto2005
In plain words why is this negative? Well if piracy is the main issue with the PL you would have thought Saudi Arabia would have been working towards been more open to Bein Sports rather than fining them £2m. Dokko
Ksa will have its own broadcasting region imo, separate from the rest of the me.
Stifler
In plain words why is this negative? It could have no bearing on the takeover at all. The thing is people are assuming that SA will want the country to access all NUFC games. BeIN own the Premier League rights for this season and next season. If BeIN are banned from operating in SA then there will be no way to watch any NUFC Premier League games. It is very unlikely that Qatar would sub sell the rights to SA. Dokko
Ksa will have its own broadcasting region imo, separate from the rest of the me. But Qatar already own the rights for this season and next season. Not now. Thryve been found guilty of monopolising their broadcasting making users sub to other sports thry didn't want. Decsiin made by some governing body. Ksa have acted by banning them from their country and will seek individual broadcasting rights with each competition. Actually that gov body is internal, so not sure what weight outside KSA it has.
TRon
Seems like Saudi priority is to stick one on Qatar first and foremost, buying football clubs is more of a side punt which will be nice if it comes off.
Dokko
This’ll be why hairy hands was admitting defeat yesterday. He’ll have heard his company has lost its case and now KSA are free to have their own broadcasting rights, and will not only ramp up over the next couple of years in their own country but then take on rights across the Middle East. It’s the beginning of the end of bein. Bein effectively forced KSA in to priacy due to dodgy subs. Glorious.
