Aarons was much better, even he hasn’t went on to set the world alight.

He was a shocking buy who Ashley only got on the off chance he had half a decent season and he could be sold on for a profit.

Yes Aarons was better, but Lewis looked like he was ok. Like better than Dummett. But ended up being quite awful.

was such an exciting signing at the time.

never watched him before he signed for us. was he ever any good?

He was fantastic in his debut for us, had the MOTD pundits raving about him as I remember.  The very next game he got absolutely destroyed, was dropped and never recovered.

He was the worst full back defensively I’ve ever seen play for Newcastle, and there’s a lot of company there. Positionally awful.

It was the 0-3 loss at home to Brighton in 2020 were he got rinsed over and over. Probably didn’t help that ASM was the left winger so not much cover, but it was clear he couldn’t defend. He wasn’t dropped, he kept his place in the team

he could never defend crosses from the other side either. Felt like every game he played we conceded from a cross to the far post because he couldn’t track a runner. Never did anything but pass backwards with the ball either.

Easily one of our worst ever signings.

Never seen someone so scared of the ball, always hid away as well.

Surely he isn't going to Brazil, not exactly the place to be scared of the ball

This is so weird man [emoji38]

Think he would have been an okay pickup for an MLS side.

Brazil is crazy. He's the most un-Brazilian full back ever [emoji38]

Proper love a completely random move. Has there been any info on whether it's a loan or permanent?

According to Downie, he's out of contract next summer, so looks like either way he's finished here.
