I think we'd all agree the most humame thing to do with him it take him for one last run around Leazes Park then shoot him in the back of the head.

Feed him his favourite food, too. That new diet be damned.

How is it even possible to pick up an 8 week injury on a hamstring without actually using a hamstring....he's gone full Seim de Jong mode now

got to be more to it.

eddie said he felt it getting tight againts brentford.

a hamstring strain nowadays shouldnt really put you out for even a whole month.

and there;s no way he could have torn it. would have been more obvious.

His only job in life is to look after himself and get fit to play football, he will have the best kit, equipment and medical staff money can buy, disgraceful really.

I really don’t understand people blaming Wilson for getting injured or assuming some lack of professionalism on his part. He’s spent most of his career crocked. His body is just obviously not up to playing regularly at the top level.

Blame the club for keeping him around when he is past it and can’t be relied upon, sure. But I don’t know why Wilson gets so much flak. It’s not like he’s deliberately injuring himself.

 It's a tedious given that as soon as a player isn't performing to the level we expect/know they can reach that their desire or character has to be brought in to question. As if the sporting world has never seen athletes made of glass before or something.

  • 4 weeks later...

He's been a good servant to the club over the years and provided us with some excellent moments but, sadly now the prospect of him returning to first team reconing is completely shrouded by the absolute certainty that it would last 1 or 2 games max before he is injured or "feeling something" again.

He must realise now that - as a top level player - he is basically finished.  His body cannot cope with the demands upon it.

Shame!

IF he can stay fit for the rest of the season it could massive for us. Not holding my breath like.

Him and Isak probably the best two pure strikers in a squad in the league. In terms of the drop off in quality from first to second choice.

Could be back start of February according to Howe.

Not so helpful in that he’s missed the crunch part of the season but positive we can ease him in without expecting him to do 90 mins in his first game.

For context, February has a max of 6 games, March has a max of 5 games, April 6-8 depending on how far you go in the FA Cup and any rescheduling for the Carabao final. May 4-6 games depending on FA Cup and rescheduled games. So max of 24 games left the season in 4 months.

Based on finances and how the manager is all rose tinted spec about all the players in a sick way I don't want him to come back and do well. I want him to play and help and give isak a rest and less pressure on osula of course. However any decent run and eddie will want to keep him as we supposedly hold a year option on him I think it's time we part ways.
