We’ve been linked with one who has a similar record and is younger and a lot of people don’t rate him and are scared off by his injury record. It's more because he scores headers and is not known for his speed. That part of the game is unfashionable.
prefabtoon
Hopefully Eddie Howe can manage Wilson a lot better than Bruce. And it looks as though our back room staff and equipment are being improved, I think Bruce's idea of Getting fit for football was simply going out and running multiple miles. Dr.Spaceman
This is it, we're going to start the season on much better shape (literally) too, so less likely to lose players to injury as a result.

Eventually he will be our back up striker and who better? Yeah and then in 2 years time we can derail this thread about players who should play for nowt at Stoke because they love the beautiful game... JumpersForGoalposts
Good striker, good lad, legs made of cheese. Should be our third choice striker as a nice problem to have when he's fit. Cannot be relied on to be fit, despite his best efforts. No fault of his own, but that's just the way it is.

madras
You'd like to think now we are a professional set up we'll find out if he's actually made of glass, been handled wrong or been Unlucky
buzza
I agree, he is made of glass. But you have to counter that he is absolute class when fully fit and brings a huge amount to the team. Take a punt on him that he doesn´t get injured this year and then have him as back up when we bring in osihmen/schick next year...
Dr.Spaceman
If Bruce and Howe were data centre managers. Howe will manage Wilson (and others) much better than they have ever been managed at the club, we'll not only see them on the pitch more often but we'll see them much fitter than we ever have. JumpersForGoalposts
There seems to have been a misunderstanding on others parts - not third choice through lack of quality - third choice through lack of availability.
Nine
We won’t be able to compare his fitness record under Bruce to what it will be this season, look at his games played under Howe at Bournemouth. Besides a couple freak injuries he was largely a an almost 30+ games a season player, I know age will play a part but Howe and his team will have him far better managed. Hanshithispantz
He was doing 700 mile round trips after games and on his days off unser Bruce which has now stopped (or atleast that was the plan). Edited July 7, 2022 by Hanshithispantz

Unlike other squad fillers like Almiron, Ritchie, Gayle etc, Wilson actually wins games when he starts. Considering we wouldn't get full value if we sold, he's well worth keeping a hold of in the hope he has a good spell clear of injury. The club have the right idea in bringing in a quality younger striker to give him some competition for the shirt.
