Callum Wilson set to be out for around 8 weeks with new hamstring injury (Howe)

Disagree like, Barnes is class. Gordon’s got so much to his game that he’ll end up playing multiple roles whereas Barnes will be LW. Livramento is genuinely amazing and the best buy we’ve had apart from Bruno for the money spent. Hall is clearly the problem signing there. For the money that we need to pay for him to become our player, it really isn’t looking like money (potentially) well spent. Tonali will be great for us, provided he’s mentally fine and committed to us.

Maybe we pretended to sign Hall via this loan with a conditional buy in order to drop his value and utterly fuck Chelsea. 4D chess coming into effect if we don’t sign him

I think we will look to sign someone of the Joao Pedro/Ekitike mould in the summer should the right target be attainable, a versatile forward that can play centrally would add so much selection value at the moment.

I also think there’s a decent chance Wilson stays on for another season if both parties will be happy with him playing a lesser role.

12 weeks  fuck off man.

Absolutely need shot of him in the summer. Been a brilliant player, an unreal scoring record during the Bruce days particularly and someone I'll always remember fondly but his injury record is a joke. Not like it's even one recurring issue either, you'd think he was held together with sellotape.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he stayed next season because no-one will pay for him, we subsequently use him as the 3rd choice/donkey striker here and there - he decides/realises this is about what he can manage now then ends up staying another year or two on reduced terms playing the same sort of role.

Quite unimpressed by our recruitment team on their decision to not pursue a striker (even a loan option) over both windows. Relying on Isak and Wilson to be fit for significant periods over a full season seemed fanciful, at best.

A sale to the Saudi league in the summer would be a great option for all parties.

Time for the glue factory.

Like that part in Animal Farm (the clean version not the mucky one) where they send Boxer the much loved horse to be melted doon. Heartbreaking but it’s his time.

Time to just cut our losses and move him on for whatever we can get for him. It's not his fault he's injury-prone but he's no good whatsoever to us as he misses as many matches as he's available for. Seems a canny bloke but we can't rely on him to stay fit for longer than a month and that's just not acceptable. He's just a talented crock

Any good striker’s available on loan in January ?

Whoever is in charge of our recruitment probably needs replacing.

Hall - no idea why we signed him

Barnes - Good player, but Gordon is our best LW, Joelinton/Willock, Anderson can play there.

Tonali - Bad luck, maybe not the right profile of player though?

Livra - Good signing, but should still be playing more.

On his way to Man Utd isn’t he ?

Could see someone like Brentford taking a punt once Toney goes. £15-18m or so.

Really? He's literally the most un-Brentford signing possible. They're data led and sign players on the up within a very restricted wage bracket. Like Brighton the only aging players they go for are unspectacular free transfers - e.g. Ben Mee.

The case in point here being they just spent £32 million on a 22 year old Brazilian striker from Brugge in anticipation of replacing Toney.

To be fair to Wilson, he shouldnt have even been on the pitch, he was absolutley gassed after 60 minutes.

This is another issue over the season. Players are being flogged to death to cover the gaps throughout the squad due to injuries and lack of rotation.

So basically he’s got a broken tit?

Thanks for the service Callum, but I’ll be very disappointed if he’s at the club next season (unless it’s as a third choice striker with a very strong backup for Isak)

I'm sure Lewis Hall on for him, with Gordon going up top for 20 minutes would have been better than what we did.

Still think our business was relatively solid. Not amazing, but alright. It put us in a position where we had two competent players in every position and plenty who can play multiple roles.

There's still plenty to do. We still have holes all over the squad, but it's going to take time to fill them with quality.
