Just update us if he’s ever available again.

Wonder how far he is away from considering retirement.

Why would he retire?

Getting paid £80k/week or whatever to just sit in your garden seems fucking perfect to me.

Well why would anyone retire early due to injury? It happens. I assume there's consideration or insurance to cover their pay.

He's probably not considering it anyway.

Pretty gutted for him.  There is next to no benefit to him in terms of being weak or missing games, he is going to get nothing from that he is damaging value to himself for any other contract he might get somewhere else. He has also just always struck me as someone who genuinely just really likes playing for us and can see the achievement it is to him

It's a shame how his time with us is played out, he has sadly become a bit of a handbrake to us though

Piss weak excuse. He’s had his chance. Will remember him fondly as someone there keeping us afloat under the cabbage and then during Eddie’s first couple of seasons but just went injury AWOL in the times we really needed him.

It does feel like quite a weak reason, like. Players play through niggles and tightness all the time.

Yeah but miss 3 games until he's ready, or play him now and definitely have 3 months out from playing too soon.

Either way he needs throwing in the bin now and a new striker to compete with Isak.

I do think there’s probably an element where we’re not very good at treating or diagnosing injuries, mind. Everything is exaggerated by how injury prone Callum is too obviously.

Really disappointing because he adds a lot to us when he’s fit. Not just goals but his attitude and leadership are top level too.

He had B2B ACL injuries - strong mentally.

But yeh... it seems like the body has completely gone.

Did he have a chance to play in the CL? Definitely played at the WC.

Agree, I think he's mentally very tough. Just his body has been brittle for a long time now, and at his age it's not going to improve. His next move will be a semi-retirement basically.

Is Wilson in same boat as Sturridge? Where a lot of the injuries is in his head?

Or he won't play unless 100% that was how sturridge ended up been off all the injuries. It mentally takes it's toll.

Hit the bar against Dortmund at home, right? Or am I totally making that up

Yeh he did. The header.

I like Callum man. He was great for us.

But he looks done.   I wanted him to stay but that looks to have been a mistake.
