One, widely famous, scoring all 4 goals in a 2-2 draw with Leicester City. Dancing Brave Posted June 15 Share Posted June 15 Millwall goalkeeper Matija Sarkic has died at the age of 26, the club have announced. Sarkic, a Montenegro international, joined the Championship club from Wolves in August 2023 and made 33 appearances for them last season. He last played for his country in a friendly against Belgium on 5 June. The Montenegro Football Association said in a statement that Sarkic had died suddenly on Saturday morning. The Grimsby-born Montenegro international - who played for a string of British clubs including Aston Villa, Wolves, Birmingham City and Stoke City - is reported to have become ill at an apartment in the town of Budva after being on international duty. His friends immediately called for an ambulance but he died around 6:30am local time on Saturday. RIP Taken too early.
