He was an excellent journalist before he joined The Athletic. When he wrote for a national I felt he tried really hard to portray the frustration of following this stupid club and it felt like he would go out to bat for us in the same way somebody like Daniel Storey does now.

Now he’s at the Athletic though he knows the majority of his work is for Newcastle fans, he’s effectively sold out and needs to keep contacts onside or he won’t get anything. Chris Waugh is a good bloke and has started to overtake him despite being pegged as Sidekick Simon/Captain Waffles in the god awful podcast they do.

I still think Douglas has got the most to offer but the Chronicle is, well, just try and read an article. A dead duck basically.

What will be interesting is to see what happens IF we ever get taken over. I don’t blame some of them for being a bit shit right now, imagine having to cover this shitfest 6 days a week? Try to make a story about the club that barely exists. The only thing they’ve got to write about is the past and sadly a lot of online readership are of an age where they don’t give a shit about the 90s. So if there’s new life it might reinvigorate some of them, when the going is good you want to consume as much content about the club as possible but right now it’s a cesspit.

Wednesdayite in peace. Been reading your forum for a while as I’ve always had a soft spot for Newcastle. Loving Bruce’s comments about not walking away. When he came to us our chairman absolutely bent over backwards to accommodate him, even allowing him delaying starting the job for six weeks so he could go to the West Indies to watch cricket. The thanks he got for that was Mr potato head walking out and taking all his back room staff with him a week before the season started.

He will get a warm welcome if he ever comes near Sheffield again.

Good luck for the rest of the season, hope you get shut soon, and the premier league rich kids let your take over go through

What the fuck

Welcome to the forum. Always thought of SW being a big club ever since the 83-84 promotion season.

Always funny to hear opinions of fans of other clubs that have had the misfortune of having Bruce as manager.

He's some talent, like. To have got away with being utter shite for so long. Takes some doing

Good chance you’ll get to see him next season.

He really does. Its not that he's managed both Sheffield clubs, both Birmingham clubs and both North-East clubs its that despite it being more and more obvious he is not a good manager he's managed to get the bigger clubs in those scenarios later in his career. WTF is going on!?!

Surely even Ashley can see how alarmingly fast we're going backwards under cabbage head? We're plummeting like a rock and it's not going to get any better if we stick with him.

Which is what pisses me off when media people compare our last two managers' records... Rafa took over a shit team and made them gradually better, Bruce has taken over a good team and made them gradually worse. To then say "but they did about the same overall" completely ignores the respective trajectories of their tenures.

Seriously,  who exactly are we going to beat under this clown? Norwich maybe?

We are fucked. Our December fixtures are so difficult. It is Everton on the 28th of that month. How ironic it would be if it were Rafa who stuck the final nail in fat boy's coffin.

At least Bruce can go away for another holiday now the useless sack of shit. 3 points from 7 games(6 of them very winnable) with nightmare fixtures coming up. Will Ashley even care enough to pie the fat knacker off? Unfortunately not.
