BottledDog
I'm very relieved and pretty optimistic that things won't be so horrendous. But I'll need a lot of persuading to be quite as optimistic as Ben Arfa about getting our shit together and fighting at the top of the table again next season. Skeletor
Ben Arfa said we would challenge for the title this season. He's just a naturally optimistic person.
AyeDubbleYoo
It will be better than this season for sure, not that that's much of an achievement.
Unbelievable
What's crazy is that Wigan's survival is still completely in their own hands despite being 4 points (effectively 5 cos of goal difference) adrift of safety. Here we go again: no it isn't completely in their own hands..

Strange indeed that everybody has their own faith in their own hands technically.

Interpolic
the term "in their own hands" is poop It's not really, it just gets a bit daft when everybody and nobody has the situation in their own hands. In more simple situations it's a good way of saying that it might not matter what a team does, it could still be impossible to achieve their goal even if they win every game. I think it particularly makes a huge difference psychologically to the players/teams involved.

LRD
Any one of Wigan, Villa and the Mackems as it is currently will do for me, although my preference for the last spot is Wigan.
Benwell Lad
if Wigan win tonight Sunderland are gone imo Sadly I can't see that happening. True. Very unlikely, yet not impossible. Re-assuring however that a Wigan relegation will be the next best thing.
