I find it hard to believe that PIF would walk away from the deal in its current state. The PL never rejected them  for a start. They were planning on spending £350m to buy us, a couple of hundred more improving the infrastructure of the club and transfers, plus further investment of millions into the city. The Reubens have probably earmarked some development in the city as well. There's so much at stake in that deal that comes with potentially years of planning. I can't see them walking away from it like this. There's more to come from this deal before its dead and depending on how they deal with the PL it could still yet be completed. Just my opinion of course which is based of pure guess work and wishful thinking because who really knows what is going on?

But it's been made plainly obvious that the PL won't pass them - even if it takes 18 months to subsequently fail them. It doesn't matter how much PIF want it to happen, it's quite clear it won't.

Not really if arbitration find that they’re a separate entity, it would be difficult for them to find grounds to reject using current o & d. The PL are looking to absolve themselves of any responsibility, if it goes to arbitration they can say to bein we had no choice but to approve.

Ok but even so, PIF refused that (assuming that they didn't want to have to wait 18 months) so it's not happening.

Breaking my nine-year posting duck to offer some light reading on the cousins.

https://www.thepeakmagazine.com.sg/interviews/roulette-spin-leads-cousins-leave-jobs-now-run-asias-largest-medical-aesthetics-chain/

Some other snippets:

1) Although Singaporeans, the Loh cousins are related to one of China's richest car dealers. President Xi Jinping attended the auld geezer's funeral when he passed on, which is saying something.

2) Evangeline Shen is the newcomer - from China and prior to the merger with the DORR group (named after Danny Ocean and whoever was Brad Pitt's character in Ocean's 11), she was running, get this, a jewellery distributorship.

3) The cousins were big in the healthcare market and very likely made a killing from the sale of PPEs and other medical essentials, especially in China, in the Covid crisis.

4) Their "publicist" (for the Bellagraph Novia group), Claire Jedrek, is quite well-known in Singapore. Married to an F1 driver and quite an active driver herself. She's on instagram if you want to venture there and maybe ask a few questions.

Looking up the Lohs in their previous capacity as founders of the DORR Group throws up a good deal more insight than looking up "Bellagraph Novia". This new entity sounds dodgy as f***, and the standard of English sounds like it was cooked up in China.

Does that give any insight as to the seriousness of the gang in buying NUFC and taking it forward as a club and city? f*** knows. The only potential positive is that they could be flush with Chinese money, or acting as frontmen for minted (but shadowy) Chinese interests. If you read the article the cousins seem like the types to gamble on unorthodox investments. If you ask me though, it certainly does smack of the lady partner showboating for attention, then thereafter lowballing Mike to scupper the deal.

Wonder why you broke your duck?

Ashley has even said himself the day the club finally gets sold there won’t be none of this circus and bullshit it will just be done. Zero chance PIF or this new lot end up buying us.

While it is unlikely that either of these two deals go through I do find it hilarious that everyone takes this one line from Ashley as gospel despite him being proven to be a liar and to mislead fans on purpose.

True. I reckon he will be right though. It’s an utter farce the amount of new bidders and fakeovers we have. It must just be done for clickbait and for the rest of the country to laugh at us. I can’t think of any other club where this shit has constantly been going on for years now.

So are we all agreed PCP/PIF/RB are gone for good?

100% definitely not. It's gone quiet, but there's no way Staveley, Reuben's and PIF have completely walked away. Not a chance.

My personal belief is this PR exercise regarding the new takeover rumours is an attempt to push PIF to get back to the table and offer the PL what they want.

I can understand the logic but personally, I think it's just wishful thinking and that it's quiet because there's nothing more to be said.

In saying that, there is the NUST meeting with the PL which should be interesting to hear about.

Seemingly it’s a meeting with supporters trusts of another 5 or 6 clubs primarily to talk about getting fans back in to stadiums. I suspect any NUST questions about the takeover will be batted away

Takeover is on the agenda. Already confirmed.

Just coz it’s on the agenda doesn’t mean they’ll give any proper answers. Alex himself on TF podcast didn’t seem all that hopeful

He bases that opinion on the ridiculous way he conducts business, over a few pints and no due diligence.

Problem being the world has changed since then With more media on things like this, it’ll never be completely silent, especially now there is a directors test to pass.

And for a taste of the men behind the takeover attempt. Turns out their uncle in China wasn't merely a car dealer - he was also Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Committee.

In before the PL insists on having President of the Peoples Republic of China Xi Jinping named as the Director of NUFC.

Hope one of them questions in the Jar was why can't you afford a pair of socks?

I’m sure Bruce can fast track this within 8 months and get us relegated.

18 months, mmmm just enough time to close the door through rule changes in the O&D Test

Would sooner they went for Messi now he’s available like. Doubt Ronaldo would want to leave Juventus to come here.

Apparently Juve want him off the wage bill so there is every chance he will leave. Just ya know.... Not for here
