r0cafella
I know people aren’t keen on these sponsors but they are absolutely vital to us bridging the gap between ourselves and the other “big 6”. I reckon we need about 5 years to reach revenue parity with the the poorest performer of them.

TBG
I can see St James Park from my office, but have the club confirmed that's not a permanent feature over the stadium? Worrying amount of silence over that and Tonali this morning. Edited October 19, 2023 by TBG

Miggys First Goal
Manure fan. Probably would have been jumping for joy had they become another oil club.
Stifler
It’s because it’s a related party to the owner, and also because it’s of a value of over £1m, it had to be approved by the Premier Leagues new market value test. If anyone has a problem with it, take it up with them.
Whitley mag
Not sure what his problem is clearly market value for a CL club that’s never off the tv.

Tiresias
Salary cap would be great for us surely, our salaries are still way behind the likes of city chelsea and even spurs. Having said that I predict it will be placed at such a point that it is basically pointless if it happens for the above reason, or it somehow will be targeted only at us, like salary cap for teams managed by eddie howe in the rules or something
Stifler
A salary cap won’t work unless every league is on board with it.
SAK
Would this need to be unanimous or majority PL club decision? Don’t see it happening because bottom half PL clubs attract top foreign talent due to wages, take that away and they stop challenging. Poorer league means less TV revenue, they’d be sabotaging themselves.
Geordie Ahmed
Yeah, I don't see how they possibly implement it It works in US Sports as their leagues are a closed system and they have no competition elsewhere
Whitley mag
Spanish, Italian and German leagues would be rubbing their hands, unless these yank owners have lost the plot and think they’re on to a money spinner can’t see it.

Aye thats it. Punish every other team that aspires to be more than dull-as-dishwater Crystal Palace.
