I was expecting to come in here to find someone declaring £200m is a paltry amount for trading facilities.

It depends on what it will entail. A stadium and luxury hotel will boost the price.

Next to the airport? Means those who want to can live in London and fly in for training. :joey:

Need to be careful with some of Willocks shots being sucked into the engines.

Good news if true. Can anyone shed light on what/where the site is and how much land is there to be developed?

I would guess Woolsington Hall?

Shit load of land there.

I mean, pretty much anywhere in greater Newcastle there’s loads of land. It’s just the site of SJP where there isn’t.

Loads of land, but it’s attached to the stately home which is listed, and some trees will have preservation orders on them. It will also be classed as greenfield land. However new houses and offices have recently been built very close to it.

Good investment from the saudis

Nah, although it’s not far from there. That site itself would be too small. The lasses used to play there before Kingston Park.

No chance it goes, it’s one of Premier Inn’s airport hotels.

I had a job interview there when I was 18, didn’t get the job though.

I shared the article with someone I know that’s involved in the current training ground upgrade and was told that this news has been on the cards for a while.

Amazing to think that only a few years ago they bought us for £300m, now they are going to spend 2/3 of that on a training ground, probably the same amount by the time it goes over budget.
