We needed the loss 2 years ago to appreciate how incredible this current feeling is

I think the players did. 2 years ago they weren’t really there. Yesterday they were there 200%

One of them saying "it's not that big a deal" to win the league cup though :lol: a club that has won literally nothing, ever.

I saw a Middlesbrough supporter calling it a Mickey Mouse trophy earlier. It's the only trophy they've ever won in their history.

Canny funny listening to folk who don't like us fall over themselves to rubbish it. It's one of the major honours in English club football. :lol:

Just goes to show the first time in a final it got to Eddie and the players and we didn't perform.

Then yesterday he was prepared and so where the team to makesure the trophy came home.

If only Southgate learned from his final loss and had a better game plan for England we'd of won the worldcup. And Southgate got knighted 😂

Eddie found a way of beating Liverpool yesterday, football is very tactical thesedays and wonder if other clubs will study what we did in a way to stop Salah in particular? Also on corners we purposely crossed the ball in areas away from VVD.

If you look at the replay, it looks like the ball is heading into the 6 yards box, before catching a bit of back spin and serving wide out to Dan Burn.

It takes every Liverpool player out of the equation.

Looking at Liverpool yesterday, player for player i don't think we're very far away from them. Salah and van dijk obviously off it yesterday, but we didn't have Gordon or Botman.

Their depth is insane. The gap may close with our additions and the loss of some of their players.

We lack the depth, but first XI I agree

purples only

Salah = Isak

Trent = Hall

Szob = Tonali

Gravenberch = Joelinton

Mac Allister = Bruno

Diaz = Gordon

VVD = Botman

We don’t have an Allison, Konate.

Their ST ( Jota Nunez etc are probably more highly rated than Murphy but Murphy more productive)

Tino is better than Robertson

a few purples in the summer and a few freebies for depth and a couple of youngsters and we can catch them up especially if Trent Salah and Van Dijk leave

Yeah their squad is much larger with greater quality. They also missed Trent more than we missed Hall. I do wonder how good we would be with another Gordon type quality player on the right hand side of our attack.
