SUPERTOON
I don’t think it’s that nobody wants it I just don’t think they have a clue what direction to go currently. Obviously they had a plan for last summer which has been thrown out the window with the position we are in. I think ideally they want a sporting director in and he would pick the manager, however our league position means we really can’t afford to wait. Ralf Rangnick is by far the best option, if he is eager to come. He’s had big influence in the new generation of German football and he is the type of manager / DoF (should be considered on both roles) who could take us to the next level. Completely different class than Favre.

Rafalove
I’m worried most of the names thrown about seem to be managers who were big names as players. Like they automatically think because they’re star names, that will translate in to the completely different discipline of management. We all know that isnt the case. Also indicates they barely have even the most basic football knowledge. Edited October 18, 2021 by Rafalove

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
The “Bible” brand has obviously grown into a somewhat credible publication but with all due respect, I don’t think SportBible have a tap in to what Staveley et al are thinking compared to local and some national reporters ffs. Awaymag
Do you honestly think Staveley is on the phone to the media with their shortlist? They are just chucking any name into the mix, hoping that one is correct. The media are basically acting like Twitter ITKs

nbthree3
https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wayne-rooney-keen-newcastle-united-21897538 Ryder's followed up - he isn't quoting SportBible Former England star Wayne Rooney is understood to be interested in helping Newcastle United on a short-term basis - if Steve Bruce leaves St James’ Park. It is believed that Rooney would look to bring in another Toon favourite with him to Newcastle in Shay Given. Before the takeover Given was offered an interview with the Under-23s working under former team-mate Steve Harper. But Rooney will only step forward to help Newcastle if Bruce goes. Rooney has always spoken highly of Newcastle and told me in the summer: "Players I knew who played for the club always said it was such a fantastic place to play football because the fans are out of this world. "Their away support has to be one of the best as well, they create an incredible atmosphere everywhere they go." Bruce took training today and was not told anything about his future as preparations for the trip to Crystal Palace unfolded. Newcastle players have a routine day off on Tuesday before work resumes for the clash at Selhurst Park.
