CPL
No chance Gordon starts. He was rested for Sheffield United but ended up playing 80minutes. We have cover in that position. Of the regulars, we might see Burn, Botman, Isak and maybe Almiron.

Just let him sit it out - play a kid. Schr definitely needs to sit it out.

BlazeT44
Tactically spot on tonight. Held it to 0-0 when he knew neither team would go gung-ho in the first 45, then beat Pep to the punch by bringing on Gordon and Bruno at HT. Pep didn't know what to do, or how to change it. Think he got one over Pep tonight
Newcastle Fan
Got it fucking spot on today, i was one who was really upset with some of his decisions during our bad run, but today he showed his quality. hopefully this will give him and everyone around confidence to tackle the next big challenges head on. Pilko
4 clean sheets on the belt now, really feels like some momentum is building. Utilised the squad well and negotiated about as tough a cup tie as you can get, brilliant stuff.
54
That's only the second time in 38 games that Man City have failed to score (the other time was against Brentford once they'd already won the league too) and this guy did it with Lascelles and Dummett at the back. Think that's his biggest achievement since being here tbh

wormy
That was a Rafaesque performance but with heightened Eddie-style attack to top it off. So pleased for him to get that first Man City scalp, League Cup or not. Hopefully another monkey off the back. What a man. What a man. What a mighty good man. GEFAFWISP
He's a poor tactician according to some on here don't forget, as evidenced by rinsing Pep with his tactical changes.

BonesJones
Beating the manager he regards as the best, maybe he can sleep tonight. I went from not being that fussed either way with this game, to wanting to win it quite badly.

I obviously don't watch it every City game but I've never seen Pep have no clue how to change a game that's turned on him like that. KaKa
Loved the tactical adjustment to close off all those spaces in between the lines that Man City love to exploit. Very nice change from the first meeting. Lascelles and Dummet at centre back and held Man City to an XG of 0.56. Top class.

We didn’t have those massive gaps between defence and midfield. It was tight. Ok Rodri and co weren’t playing but we had some boys out there. But we looked much better off the ball even in the first half than we have against City, Liverpool, Brighton or Milan. My biggest gripe with Howe has been not addressing those gaps. But they were largely closed today. Well done lad.
