Can't say that 3 games in. Would you have said that after the effort on Monday night?

The only reason we have the points we have is one man Isak he should he hounded. I honestly hate him. I’ve never hated a player this much

now looks like this season is going to be more of a transitional one rather than the transformational one we (and Eddie) thought it would be.

Nope.

Top 5 absolutely still has to be the aim, and it is more than achievable. The likes of Spurs, Manure and Aston Villa don't look any better than we do.

Hopefully, once the window closes, we can settle down and start to hit our stride.

We are only 2 points down on last season against the same opposition, so plenty of time to get this right.

Champions League has to be the aim again, but we need the window to shut tomorrow so we can see what we have to work with.

The formation never worked against Everton and that was with Isak playing.

I look at the Everton wide players Ndiaye, Grealish and Dibling all offer something different.

We had electrifying pace in Gordon did we need to replicate that on the right? For all Ramsey looked ok yesterday is he what we needed for 40 million?

The lad from Leicester was completely different and available. Howe has doubled down on his approach this summer, if it works great, but if it doesn’t he’ll rightly face questions.

After 3 games we look devoid of creativity, think a lot hanging on big Nick already.

Jacob Ramsey has offered a huge amount in terms of creativity. As long as he’s not picked up an injury I’m not concerned about creativity at all once we get a proper striker in. We’ve also seen the welcome return of the Bruno slide rule pass and we have Tino on the left beating his man to cross in and Elanga beating his man and crossing in from the right. Elanga will get a lot of assists this season once we have Woltemade playing

That's just not true, we bossed Villa and the dippers (with 10 men) we just had no cutting edge, yesterday was our first truly poor performance, but even then we had another clean sheet away from home (where the home team are unbeaten for 20 odd games).

We bossed them without creating exactly my point.

Some of you really need to not judge players on a 3 game start where the striker was untested kid and a winger.

If the midfield is still struggling once there are actual recognised forwards playing for an extended period then sure.

But for now it makes no sense to pay attention to anything they're doing.

Bollocks, we bossed them and missed the chances we created.

We created next to nowt apart from when Elanga was clear through against Villa. Against Liverpool one Joelinton half chance when it was 11 v 11?

It's frustrating that the first 3 games seemed to be an extension of pre-season with trying different things (shit set piece routines specifically) and changing formation for a newly promoted side which didn't exactly help turn the momentum, we still haven't won a single game be it friendly or competitive other than the behind closed doors kick about against Carlisle.

But also, the team does look fit and ready to compete and there is still a long season ahead of us. i just hope that they use the international break to plan in advance the hectic period that comes after it and how to approach each game in an aggressive manner.

I don't understand why every time we play the 3-5-2, some people go on like it's the first time we've played it. The first time I can recall was in that 4-0 against Spurs in the RNID game. We used it in both legs against Arsenal to good effect, Chelsea where Jackson got sent off, Everton (where we were shite). It's clearly something we work on, but the results so far are admittedly quite mixed. The manager wants to use the squad in what's going to be a grueling season, it's not 'experimenting'.

It's a good formation to play when you are expecting the other side to go at you and you will try and hit them on the counter, worked perfectly in the 2nd leg against Arsenal last year and in other games.

However against Leeds in a game where you really need to play three points it was the wrong choice and it showed a bit of lack of confidence in our preferred formation that usually works so well for us.

I don't disagree with that.

Strange decisions yesterday, but he will learn, as he always does.

Window needs to shut now, and hopefully Isak will go. We can then forget qbout this shit and get the new lads settled in.

International break has come at a good time for us. Hopefully clear the injuries and plays can work on a few things before we get going again.

Not a brilliant start to the season, but with Isak situation, it's hardly a suprise.

Baring injuries, we have a much stronger squad now, whatever way you look at it. And it's way to early to be judging any of the new lads.

The owners don't deserve you, Eddie. Fuck all news on stadium, fuck all on new training ground, fuck all on CEO/DoF hierarchy, fuck all on critical sponsorships. It would have been 6-7th at best with no trophy these past three seasons without him.

He's frankly the only person keeping me connected with the game at this point

Pretty much. FFP, social media, "baller", labubus, everyone becoming an expert in spreadsheet FC - it's all boring.
