My opinion of this man has only went up over the summer - he was dealt a shite hand and handled it like an absolute master.  I also reckon Howe wanted Isak fucked off - I don't see how Isak's attitude chimes with anything that we've seen so far in terms of Howe builds teams (not just players).

 

The club needs to sort its shit out, get an actual board and executive in place, hire a competent DoF (not just the pal of the CEO) and let this man get on with the job he's best at.

He definitely won't want to speak on him, he'll feel betrayed as much as the rest of us and I think the rat is probably as good as dead to him now.

I think he'll be fairly kind, call him a great player and wish him well but emphasise he's not going to talk more on other teams players unless we're playing them.

Agree on Howe wanting Isak out. It's the one reason I could come to terms with selling him to Liverpool even though I vehemently disagreed with it in principle. In the end I just think Howe's opinion probably mattered more than was let on in public.

Exactly, he has been like a one man band. The CEO should have been dealing with a lot of this sh but EH was the only man at the helm.

I agree. The man has far too much class to say anything bitchy. Regardless of others' behaviour, you have to abide by your own standards.

Was also telling that he spoke about his fantastic relationship with previous sporting directors he had worked with, like Dan Ashworth and Richard Hughes. No mention of big Paul.

When he does leave I hope it's his decision or it's a mutually agreed thing so he can take the England job. I don't ever want to see a situation where he's being sacked, just wouldn't feel right.

I just don't think he'll be a perfect fit for England. He has the ability, no doubt. But if he wants to use his high pressing style he just doesn't get long enough to work with the players and some of the players just wouldn't be useless to it. That's why he considers pre-season so important. He works the players hard, but you can't really do that at International football.

 

However with that being said, if he does take the England job one day he'll probably adjust his style slightly to accommodate that. He has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
